Physics doesn’t lie: F = m × a

Force = Mass x Acceleration. Want to move faster? You need to produce more force faster.

The gym lays the foundation, building the strength and rate of force development you need to work with.

Our speed and agility sessions are the next step: a dedicated training session outside of the speed and agility we do in the gym, designed to harness that force and teach your body to apply it quickly, so it shows up as real speed and sharper cuts on the field.

That’s why every session at Katalyst is built in close collaboration with Mia’s coaching team, Luke Sebastiani, Alex Bozovic and her dad Rob. What they’re seeing on the tennis court directly shapes what we build in the gym.

When her coaches need more first-step explosiveness off the baseline, we’re loading single-leg power. When the game demands more racquet speed without losing control, we’re building rotational strength through the hips and core. When matches stretch into a brutal third set and legs start to fold, we’ve already trained her to hold form under fatigue, because that’s exactly where matches are won.

The gym isn’t separate from her tennis. It’s where her tennis gets stronger.

One team. One athlete. One mission.

Behind the Scenes: Engineering Elite Performance

BMX racing is won by fractions of a second, so every detail and session must have a clear purpose.

Working closely with Isla Basa and her coach, Dan Morris from the Dharco BMX team our role is to complement Isla’s on-track skills by building her physical capacity for peak performance.

Our targeted high performance framework focuses on several key areas:

* Explosive Peak Power: Driving adaptations for crucial initial acceleration off the gate.
* Repeated Sprint Ability: Training the body to deliver explosive accelerations throughout an entire race.
* Strength and Speed Development: Converting all power into track performance.
* Continuous Monitoring: Guiding adjustments, managing load, and peaking through data.

The Power of the Ecosystem

High performance needs collaboration. When coaches communicate openly and put the athlete first, success follows.

This glimpse reveals the rigorous preparation demanded on the big stage. The aim: leave no stone unturned.

When Isla rolls up to the start gate, she will not be hoping for a result. She will know she has engineered it.

We are proud to be part of Isla’s journey and excited to see this hard work show on race day.

Competing against the best Under 12 rugby league players from across New South Wales is an achievement in itself, but Heath Spinks finished the State Championships with something even more special.

Heath was voted Players’ Player by his teammates, a recognition that speaks volumes about the respect he earned throughout the tournament. He was also selected as the Sydney South West representative for the team meeting, another honour that reflects his leadership, character and professionalism.

While everyone sees what Heath does on the field, what impresses us most is the young man he is off the field. He is humble, respectful, hardworking and always willing to support those around him. He turns up with a great attitude, is coachable, and genuinely celebrates other athletes' success. Those qualities don’t always appear on the scoreboard, but they are the foundation of long-term success in both sport and life.

At Katalyst Performance, our mission has never been just to develop better athletes. We are passionate about developing better people. So we love seeing athletes recognised not only for their performances but for the impact they have on the people around them. Awards like these are earned through consistent effort, selflessness and being the kind of teammate everyone wants standing beside them.

Congratulations, Heath. We’re incredibly proud of everything you have already achieved and, more importantly, the person you are becoming. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.

Driving the Future of BMX Performance with Wattbike

At Katalyst Performance, we don’t just use technology; we help shape how it’s applied to elite athlete development. In collaboration with Wattbike and Sean Dwight from Sprintblock, we are incredibly proud to be working together to better utilise Wattbike’s industry-leading performance metrics specifically for the BMX world.

Together, we are excited to officially launch custom testing protocols built entirely for BMX racers.

One of the most critical performance qualities on the track is Repeated Sprint Ability (RSA), the capacity to repeatedly deliver maximal efforts from the qualifying motos all the way to the main event. By leveraging Wattbike’s high-resolution data capture, we gain a flawless window into a rider’s anaerobic capacity and biomechanical blueprint.

Every sprint tells a story:

🔹 Low Peak Power + High Fatigue Resistance | The engine is there, but you lack the explosive horsepower needed to dominate the gate.
🔹 High Peak Power + Poor Fatigue Resistance | You’ve got the raw horsepower, but you struggle to maintain it across rounds.

By integrating real-time force curves, advanced PES and cadence metrics, and Wattbike’s precise analytics, we are erasing the guesswork. This collaboration allows us to map out highly individualised training strategies to help riders accelerate faster, repeat efforts flawlessly, and perform when it matters most.

No guesswork. No wasted effort. No wasted watts.

Too many athletes put their development on hold the moment the season starts. That is how you plateau.

Today’s session with rugby league athlete Khobie was built around a high-performance progression designed to stack wins all season long. Every single block serves a specific purpose:

⚡ The Breakdown:
* Movement Prep & Acceleration: Unlocking fluid movement and explosive starting power.
* Plyometrics & Velocity Work: Training the central nervous system to strike fast and hard.
* Strength-Speed & Hypertrophy: Maintaining peak power output without burning out.
* Armour Building: Creating a resilient body that handles heavy contact week after week.

The best athletes don’t just survive the season. They continue to evolve.

Don't just play the game. Own the process.
