Congratulations to Frankie, Eduardo, Cam, Stewart and Eamonn for passing their proficiency in the UAV today, with a couple more to go through it next weekend. This is a huge progress in the clubs capabilities and big step into the future. Big thank you to Louis, Kevin, Ernesto and Brian for all the work they have done in this space.

It was wonderful celebrating Mike Girven at the Surf Life Saving NSW Awards of Excellence over the weekend. Mike was nominated for Coach of the Year! We are so proud of him and appreciate the work he does in surf sports and beyond.

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭: Welcome to the 105th Season!

The Board and I are extremely excited to welcome everyone to a new season.

I personally want to thank you all for re-electing me as your President for the 2026/2027 season. I am so proud and privileged to represent such an incredible community. I also want to thank everyone who attended the AGM on Sunday, it was wonderful to see so many members engaged in the future progress of the Club. 

I want to thank Tony Tier, outgoing Director of Education, and Nick Lawry, outgoing Director of Junior Activities. The work you have both put in over the past few seasons has been invaluable. I also want to welcome Rachel Maloney, our newly elected Director of Junior Activities, and Bonnie-Jean Newman, our newly elected Director of Education, both incredible appointments and assets to our Club. 

A massive congratulations to Louis Tassone on receiving Life Membership. This recognition is very well deserved, and Louis’ list of achievements within Surf Life Saving is both incredible and admirable. 

The “off-season” has been a busy one, with a great deal of preparation and planning happening. One of the most exciting developments is our UAV (drone) program, which is now in full swing. Thanks to Louis Tassone and Kevin Carliell, we almost have nine proficient pilots, with more members waiting to begin their UAV journey. This will help ensure we have strong “eyes in the sky” coverage throughout the season. 

The AV and security upgrade is well underway and will be complete by the time the flags are up. These improvements will help ensure the Club is better equipped and more functional for our community. The bar upgrade is also about to begin, and look forward to seeing this space refreshed and ready to support the celebrations that bring our Club community together.

Please join us in congratulating our newest North Curl Curl SLSC Life Member, Louis Tassone, from our AGM held yesterday, August 9 2026. Louis has displayed a significant commitment, dedication and service to the club and are deserving recipients of Life Membership. We were privileged to have Louis join our Club well over 20 years ago and has since held multiple roles within our club, Surf Life Saving SNB, Surf Life Saving NSW and beyond. He truly is a pillar of our community. 💚💛

From the President: It’s been a wonderful weekend representing North Curl Curl SLSC at the Surf Life Saving NSW state conference. I had the privilege of meeting members from other clubs from across the state, listen to some inspiring speakers like Ivan Cleary and Liz Ellis and partake in workshops all focused on collaboration, growth, and connection. 

The weekend has left me feeling inspired and excited to support our community the best I can, to flourish this coming season and beyond.
