The final of the Major Singles Championship was played today between Karen McCann and Jennie Stewart. After a hard-fought game where the scores were neck-and-neck throughout, Jennie was victorious over Karen. The final score was 25 - 21. Congratulations to Jen on winning the Women's Major Singles Championship and good luck in the Champion of Champions competition in December. Well done to both ladies for a game that was a pleasure, although nail-biting, to watch.

Metro NW Rookie Pairs Qualifiers were played at Toongabbie Sports and Bowling Club today, 26th September 2026. Angela Conway paired with Mark Stockdale and Katarina Kefecek paired with Roger Deane. Each pair achieved one win out of three games.

Other Hills Club pairs were Tony Carroll and Rob Frame who achieved one win and Jeff Rogerson and Mark Cahill who had two wins out of three games. Jeff and Mark progress to the finals series and have a bye in Round 1 so play in the semi finals tomorrow, 27th September, at 11.15am.

Windsor Women's Bowling Club held their Triples Carnival on Monday 14th September 2026. The event was well attended by teams from Glenbrook, Springwood, Lawson, Penrith, Castle Hill, Merrylands, Wenty Leagues and Austral. Robyn Procter, Lorraine Douglass and Marion Corrigan attended from The Hills Bowling Club and won one game out of three. A salad lunch was served by the Windsor ladies then raffles and the prizes. The overall winner was a team from Penrith Bowling Club.

There will be a social bowls day on Saturday 10th October to celebrate the 90th Anniversary of The Hills Club.
The theme of the day will be "to wear the oldest bowls uniform" you have.
There will be two games of triples starting at 11.30am, followed by a one end shootout of the top eight teams, finishing approx. 3.30pm.
Cost is $2 per player for a BBQ and there will be a jackpot and prizes.
The day is open to all ladies and men bowling members, both full members and social members.
Please put your name on the single entry sheet in the Bowls Room by Tuesday 6th October.

Three of our women bowlers played in the Over 40 Pairs Metro North-West Qualifiers today at Merrylands Bowling Club. Angela Conway and Chris Cleary played together and Jennie Stewart partnered with Wayne Ede.
Angela and Chris fought valiantly through their three games and were successful in their last game.
Jennie and Wayne won two games out of three and achieved top place in their section. They play in the Finals Series tomorrow (Sunday) at Carlingford Bowling Club against Heath Lewis and Shaun Thompson from Merrylands Bowling Club.
Two pairs from the Hills Men's Bowling Club also reached the Final Series - Peter Farrell and Danny Phillips and Jon Melit and Adam Baker.
