Common mistake I see with the cable ab crunches is hinging the weight down or moving your hips back and forth.
Recently, to teach the movement of flexing and extending our torso (opening and closing) I’ve been using a foam roller to keep the hips stable. If you like this variation, there’s no reason for you to take the foam roller (keep it there and keep progressing with the weight)💪

Here are the three most important signs that your training is going to get you “toned” or build muscle (the toned look you’re after comes from a combination of building muscle and losing fat)
1. Are your reps slowing down? If it’s not you likely aren’t training hard enough or close to your failure point
2. Are you recording what weights you lift? If you aren’t tracking that, you most definitely are leaving room for progression. matching the same reps between sets is also another sign you could be doing more too
3. Have you taken enough rest in between sets? Going really fast with short rest sounds like a good idea to feel like you’re working out but when it comes to progressing weight it might be the thing that’s actually holding you back. You need to have enough rest to give decent effort for your following sets
