🎤 How did you first get into running?
I first got into running about 15 years ago when I was working at IBM at Cumberland State Forest. There was a 5 km running track through the forest, and a few of my colleagues used to head out for a run during lunch or after work. I decided to join them one day, really enjoyed it, and I’ve been running ever since.
What’s the most impactful thing running has given you, or still gives to you?
Running has become much more than just exercise for me. It helps me stay physically fit, clears my mind, and is one of the best ways I’ve found to relieve stress. I also love the personal challenge of setting new goals and seeing what I’m capable of. Every finish line, whether it’s a 5 km event or a half marathon, gives me a real sense of achievement and reminds me that consistency and perseverance pay off.
What are your training/running plans for the rest of 2026?
I’m looking forward to completing more events this year, including the Real Insurance Sydney 10, City2Surf, the TCS Sydney Marathon Family Fun Run, the Sydney Half, and the Parklands Trail Run. My goal is to continue enjoying the journey, stay active, and build my medal collection!

Everyone starts somewhere and race day isn't just for seasoned runners.
It's for first timers, weekend joggers, walkers catching up with friends and anyone looking to challenge themselves in their own way.
There's no pressure to be the fastest. Just show up, enjoy the atmosphere and cross the finish line at your own pace.
Your first race might just be the start of something bigger (like racing toward a Deca Medal 🫣).
