Our 14/2 make a second year appearance in the Div 4 grand finals shield. After last season narrow loss to St Patrick’s in the GF they set sail to finish their raid this season coming home with the shield in tomorrow’s clash against brothers.

Grand Final 16 Girls Div 1 Cup Runners Up 🥈

A heartbreaking finish for our Vikings, going down to St Mary’s in today’s Grand Final.

The result doesn’t take away from what this group has achieved. They battled through the season, earned their place on the biggest stage and gave everything they had when it mattered most. St Mary’s were clinical tonight and we congratulate them on the win.

To our players hold your heads high. You represented the Vikings jersey with pride, courage and determination. 💚🖤

As Sylvester mentioned to his players “remember the scoreboard as fuel for next season” To Vester, manager Rae, trainers and supporters thank you for standing behind the team every step of the way.

Today was a reminder of what these boys have worked so hard for all season. From the opening kick-off, they showed determination, discipline and plenty of heart.

The boys worked tirelessly in defence, and from there, they built momentum and played together as a team. Their hard work eventually paid off as they ran away with the game.

Brothers threw everything they had at us, but our boys stood strong and refused to let them break through our defence.

As a coach, I couldn’t be happier with what I saw from the boys today. The effort, teamwork and commitment were outstanding.

Late Report Major Semi Against Lower Mountains

Semi-Final Match Report 🏉🔥

We faced the Eagles at Leonay Oval in an early morning battle, with some of our Raiders still waking up! But when it mattered, the boys got the job done.

A much better first half set the platform, but the second half saw our communication and line speed disappear, while poor ball security gave the Eagles hope of a comeback. Credit to our Raiders for digging deep and holding on when it mattered most.

Semi Finals Report: Week 2 Elimination
Western Vikings vs Brothers

After an amazing win against colyton last week, team would be eager to repeat that same feat against a formidable opponent in brothers.

Game was as tough as it would get and as each minute drew closer to the full time siren, the intensity would pick up and even though our boys trailed 8-0 halftime, our last minute surge wouldn’t be enough to keep our season alive. 😢

Throughout this entire season, I’ve seen the growth within each player that has taken the field this year, and from pre season til now I’m honestly proud of each one. Their hard work and efforts are all testament of how well a team can be built on the back of being disciplined both on and off the field. I hope they all have learnt valuable lessons from this season as much as I have as a first time coach.

Thank you to my manager Sarah Hewes, trainer Tyler Holmes for all your hard work and support throughout this year, couldn’t have done it without you guys 🫶🏾 big shout out to all that had helped fill in as trainers and managers throughout the season, I appreciate you all 🙏🏽

Thank you to the Cgrade Coaching staff, Paul, Peter, Netty, support staff and the entire team for all your support, knowledge and guidance throughout this season. Definitely got the best bunch of individuals leading the way with our seniors.

To our families and friends who have been there from the start, my deepest gratitude goes out to you all for not only supporting the club but also entrusting us to guide and help teach your sons to not just be a great football player, but a greater version of themselves.

Finally to the club, Western Vikings. It has been an incredible experience and privilege to take the field each week with our team to represent our amazing club. Thank you to the Admin, Committee and all that are involved to make this club what it is today. I’m very grateful you gave me the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful community and I look forward to seeing what happens next season.
