Nobody fishing

Not the usual ledge, but hard to complain with a view like this

I checked the forecast before leaving home
Everything looked good.

But when I arrived, the wind was stronger than expected. No safe casts. No point forcing it.

So I sat on the rocks, had a coffee, watched the ocean for a while… and headed home.

It’s about knowing when to walk away and come back another day.



The ocean will always be there.

What a great tide after work !

I grabbed one rod, a packet of soft plastics, and headed to the bay for “just a few casts.”

A few minutes later, this Australian salmon absolutely smoked the lure.

These are the moments that keep me coming back

But every cast is another reason to keep chasing the next one.

There comes a point in every session when you stop asking,

“Where are the fish?”

…and start asking,

“Do I still believe in the next cast?”

After hours without a single bite, I stood there watching the sunrise, holding one lure in my hand and another in my pocket.

Change the lure?

Or trust the one that’s already tied on?

…………

But it always rewards those willing to come back.

What would you do?

Change the lure?
Make one more cast?
head home?
Or . . ??
