Three voices every child should learn
At Elevate, we teach children that using their voice confidently also means knowing which voice to use and when.
Listening Voice:
A quiet voice, attentive eyes and a ready mind. This develops focus, respect and the ability to follow instructions.
Training Voice:
A clear, confident voice used for counting, responding and training with purpose.
Safety Voice:
A strong, firm voice used to say “Stop”, “No” or “Help” when something feels wrong, followed by moving away and telling a trusted adult.
The lesson is not simply about being quiet or loud. It is about developing awareness, confidence and self-control.
A strong voice helps others hear you. A purposeful voice helps others understand you.

💙 Supporting Our Community
At Elevate Martial Arts we believe the values we teach should extend well beyond the dojo.
We were proud to support Liverpool Meals on Wheels for National Meals on Wheels Day 2026, helping them provide complimentary desserts for the elderly and valued members of their community.
Meals on Wheels does so much more than deliver food. For many people, that delivery also brings a friendly face, connection, care and reassurance.
Respect, compassion and helping others are values we want our students to understand not just through karate, but through the way we contribute to the community around us.
Thank you to Liverpool Meals on Wheels and all of their staff and volunteers for the important work you continue to do. ❤️

A good childhood isn’t one without challenge.
It’s one where children gradually learn that they can face something difficult, make mistakes, improve and keep going.
That’s one of the things I value most about karate.
There will be moments when a child gets frustrated.
A technique won’t work straight away.
They’ll lose focus.
They’ll have to repeat something again.
They may feel like stopping.
And those moments matter.
Because confidence isn’t built simply by telling a child, “You can do it.”
It grows when they experience the process for themselves and eventually realise:
“I can handle this. I can do this.”
Through regular training, children have the opportunity to practise much more than punches, kicks and kata.
They practise confidence, focus, discipline, respect, resilience and self-control.
Of course, belts and technical progress matter.
But karate has always been the vehicle for something bigger.
What matters even more is the young person developing underneath that belt, someone who can face difficulty, respect others, keep working and begin to understand what consistent effort can produce.
That is the bigger purpose behind what we teach at Elevate.
Strong Technique. Stronger People.
