**NOMINATIONS** - SUNDAY SLIDES WINTER SERIES ❄️

We have two more race events to conclude our 2025/26 season.

This winter, Western Sydney Speedway will host the Sunday Slides Winter series, giving drivers and teams the chance to hit the track for two action-packed rounds of racing;

📅 Round 1 – Sunday, 19 July 2026
📅 Round 2 – Sunday, 23 August 2026

Nominations are now open for Round 1, on Sunday 19th July 2026. Also open to any VGPMRA Members that wish to participate. There will be a nomination link provided by WSS in due course that will need to be completed with payment in order to nominate via the track, pay the nomination fee once advised etc. The Track Nomination Fee will include driver entry as well as entry for a number of crew, all details TBC by WSS in due course. For now though, all drivers intending on participating for Round 1 on Sunday 19th July, please nominate below with your name and car number, by no later than 6pm, Friday 10th July.

A great chance to get out onto WSS and get things right for when we return later in November to race for the NSW Title.

**AGM & ANNUAL PRESENTATION**

All Club Members, sponsors and supporters please note, the date for our AGM and Annual Presentation to celebrate the 2025/26 racing season has been locked in.

We will be hosting at White Ant Racing HQ in Orchard Hills, where some exciting new additions to the GP Midget stock of race cars in NSW will be unveiled.

All relevant info to follow soon, however will be a fantastic night as we get together to elect a Executive Committee to keep moving us forward and enjoy what has been a great season of racing - with two events at Western Sydney Speedway still to come.

SUNDAY SLIDES WINTER SERIES ❄️

Racing doesn't stop when the season ends.

This winter, Western Sydney Speedway will host the Sunday Slides Winter series, giving drivers and teams the chance to hit the track for two action-packed rounds of racing during the off-season.

Open to all Speedway Australia car classes, Sunday Slides is all about seat time, close racing and keeping the competition rolling through winter. Whether you're fine-tuning your setup, chasing valuable race laps or simply keen to get back behind the wheel, this is your chance to race before the new season begins.

**RACING UPDATE - BREAKING NEWS**

We have been in contact with Western Sydney Speedway and have received official confirmation of the race dates scheduled for next Season 2026/27 that will include five race meetings as published in our recently released NSWGPMRA racing calendar. This is fantastic news and we look forward to running the NSW GP Midget Title along with a number of other Blue Ribbon events at WSS next season.

Before that kicks off, however, we have also been able to confirm that we have locked in the two race dates offered at Western Sydney Speedway that will be held on Sunday 19th July 2026 and Sunday 23rd August 2026. This is fantastic news and, of course, confirms that our current 2025/26 racing season will conclude on the 23rd August.

The two race meetings to be held in July and August will be daytime race meetings & will be open to all NSWGPMRA and VGPMRA drivers to attend. While they will be non-points based (Super Series) we will advise very soon the details of a two-round mini-series that will encompass these two dates. This will provide an excellent opportunity to gain some valued intel on race car set-up, given that early next season we will be running the NSW GP Midget Title at WSS.

Our AGM and Presentation will be held soon after the second scheduled race date in August, to celebrate the 2025/26 Season, further details on that also to be advised ASAP.

Wally, you’re a true champion both on and off the track, and we’re incredibly proud to have you part of our Club for over 60 years. Your passion for speedway, your unwavering support, and your constant encouragement have inspired generations of racers and supporters alike.

No matter the occasion, you’re always there with a kind word, a story, a laugh, or a helping hand. Quite simply, they don’t make them like you anymore, mate.

From everyone at NSW GP Midgets, thank you for your friendship, loyalty, and everything you’ve done for our sport over the years.

Last weekends double-header saw the finalisation of the NSW Super Series for the 2025/26 racing season.

With half a dozen meetings lost to rain, it has been a frustrating year, however the Super Series saw some fantastic racing and we had plenty of fun as usual.

The point score came down to the final event at Gunnedah, with young Riley Bowyer gunning after his Dad, Gary Bowyer and William Lucas coming home like a wrecking ball.

When the dust settled, it was the Rockstar going back-to-back and holding on for a slim 12 point margin over Riley, helped by his Feature Race win in the final round.

William Lucas stormed into 3rd place by 18 points over Adam Buckley in 4th.

The 2026/27 season calendar has been released however prior to that, to complete the current race season we still have three “winter series” race events at Western Sydney Speedway (June, July & Aug).
