🎖 Sport NSW Distinguished Long Service Honour 🎖

Last Monday 29 June, our very own Geoff Hook was recognised for his outstanding long service to swimming by Sport NSW at their annual presentation evening at Bankstown Sports Club.

As recognised at our own presentation night last weekend, Geoff has been an active member and volunteer at Camden Swimming Club for 60 years.

Geoff was awarded life membership in 1982. Prior to that, he achieved several qualifications within the sport that he has put to good use ever since. Not only as an ongoing volunteer with the Camden club but assisting other clubs in the Macarthur region. Geoff has also regularly given up his time to assist with the running of local School swimming carnivals and the subsequent representative carnivals that follow.

Geoff’s Official qualifications with Swimming NSW are as follows.
• Starter – qualified since 16 October 1967
• Timekeeper – qualified since 9 July 1968
• Judge – qualified since 9 July 1968
• Check Starter – qualified since 9 July 1968
• Costume Steward – qualified since 9 July 1968
• Referee – qualified since 17 February 1970

The service Geoff has provided to the local community and to Camden Swimming Club over the last 60 years are received with extreme gratitude. The dedication that Geoff shows to the club, the community and the sport of swimming is an inspiration to every committee member and volunteer. He is also met with a huge amount of respect from the children and general members that see Geoff at the pool every Monday night and at local carnivals. The level of service he has provided to the sport over a long period of time is something we at Camden are extremely grateful for, extremely proud of and thoroughly deserving of this higher recognition by Sport NSW.

Missing your poolside BBQ on a Monday night? We’ve got dinner sorted for our Winter club nights.

Together with Papi’s Pizza and Oran Park Hotel, Monday night is PIZZA night for the remainder of our short course season. Simply place your order using the QR code provided between 5pm and 6:15pm, and have your pizza delivered to the pool at approximately 6:45pm. We will have a club representative collect the pizza’s from reception and bring them into the pool.

🏊‍♀️💙 Congratulations to our 83 Camden ASC swimmers who achieved Pho3nix Junior Excellence Awards this season!

The Pho3nix JX Program, established in 2007 by Swimming Australia, recognises and rewards junior swimmers aged 9–13 years who achieve benchmark performances throughout the season. Swimmers qualify for Gold, Silver, Bronze or Blue standard by achieving times set by Swimming Australia, providing goals that encourage growth, development and excellence in our sport.

This year, our swimmers achieved:
🥇 12 Gold Awards
🥈 24 Silver Awards
🥉 14 Bronze Awards
🔵 33 Blue Awards

These awards are a testament to the dedication, commitment and hard work shown by our swimmers, coaches and families throughout the season. Whether this was your first JX award or one of many, every achievement represents countless hours of training, learning and personal improvement.

We are incredibly proud of all 83 swimmers who reached these standards and look forward to seeing what you can achieve next season. Keep striving, keep improving, and keep enjoying the journey!

An incredible 17 Camden ASC swimmers have qualified for the 2026 Australian Swimming Trials, competing for a place on the Australian team and a chance to represent our country at the Commonwealth Games.

This is a phenomenal achievement and a testament to the dedication, hard work and commitment shown by our athletes, coaches and families. Opportunities like this only come around once every four years, and we couldn’t be prouder of every swimmer who has earned their place on the starting blocks.

A huge congratulations to Thomas, Ted, Kara, Charlotte, Sofia, Riley, Noah, Audrey, Callie, Samuel, Brodie, Kaden, Lincoln, Sean, Daniel, Klarissa and Sienna. And a further congratulations to Coach Alex for helping guide this talented group to the national stage.
