Behind The Scenes At One Body.

There’s a lot that goes into running One Body that you probably never see.

The emails. The DMs. The messages. The bookings. Memberships. Ordering. Organising. Problem solving. And all the little things that come up in between.

Being a 24/7, mostly unstaffed studio means so much of the work happens quietly behind the scenes.

There’s keeping everything stocked, making sure the studio is clean and ready, checking that everything is running as it should and constantly thinking about how we can make the experience better.

Cleaning is shared between myself and my three beautiful Studio Assistants, and Mum and I have our regular laundromat trips to keep on top of the never-ending towels.

Then there’s everything you don’t physically see.

Planning what’s next. Creating content. Working with our instructors. Organising collaborations. Responding to members. Fixing problems as they come up and making a lot of little decisions every day.

I’ve always wanted One Body to feel calm, considered and looked after from the moment you walk through the door.

And ironically, creating something that feels so simple and seamless takes a lot of work behind the scenes.

It’s not always the glamorous side of owning a business, but it’s a huge part of making One Body what it is.

The Risks & Challenges Behind One Body.

Bringing something completely new to Swan Hill came with a lot of unknowns.

Would people understand the concept? Would they support it? Would it work?

Then there was everything that came with turning the idea into a real space.

Finding the right location. The financial investment. The endless expenses involved in setting up a studio. Making big decisions and trusting that they were the right ones.

The idea for One Body had been in my head for a long time, but once I found the space, things moved quickly.

I had the March long weekend in my mind as opening weekend, and once I committed to that date, it was happening.

From getting the keys to opening the doors, we brought One Body to life in just seven weeks.

Seven weeks of building, organising, problem solving, deadlines and a lot of pressure.

There were risks at every stage, but I believed in the idea and what One Body could bring to Swan Hill.

Sometimes you have to back the vision before you know exactly how it’s going to turn out.

The Story Behind The Name.

Why One Body?

The name came from a very personal place for me.

My own experiences have shaped the way I think about my body, movement, recovery and what it means to look after yourself.

They taught me something pretty simple, we each get one body.

And no two bodies look, move or feel the same.

I wanted the name to represent that.

A space that wasn’t about fitting into one version of wellness, fitness or movement, but about looking after the body you have, in a way that works for you.

To move it. Recover it. Support it. Look after it.

Your body. Your way.

That personal experience became the meaning behind ONE BODY and it’s been part of the brand from the very beginning.
