DJ ANNOUNCEMENT #3
Making their Swing DJ debut, it's Lilly! Lilly first learned about swing dancing when they heard music playing out of a hall they were walking past and decided to investigate. Since then, they've continued to follow the music.

It's Lilly's first time DJ'ing and they want to play songs that will make you smile, with beats that will make you dance.

(We can't wait to dance to your set on Friday, Lilly!)

DJ ANNOUNCEMENT #2
DJ Squish is going to be playing her final DJ set for us before she moves overseas! A very long time Sydney teacher of lindy hop, balboa, collegiate s**g and solo jazz, she is one of the forces behind The Wriggle Room and loves nothing more than a fun, cheeky or fabulous dance.

We're really getting geared up for a great Friday now!

DJ ANNOUNCEMENT #1
Justine used to do exciting things like teach Lindy Hop and Blues, run her own events and coordinate DJs for others but now she spends her time walking her dog and telling boring stories about the Sydney scene in the 2000s when she was in her peak…so don’t get caught in a corner talking to her as she’ll be super keen to tell you about that one time she came 2nd in a Lindy Hop comp. Luckily she's a much better DJ and brings her collection of classic, swinging jazz bangers to keep dancers satisfied and the floor full.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN SWING DANCING?
Coming up on a decade this year.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN SWING DANCING?
I started as a wee noob by attending Swing Patrol's Lindy Hop classes in Glebe, a class taught by Cameron Yip and Renee Noble.

WHAT KEEPS YOU COMING BACK?
It's the whole package! I love the people, I love the infinite depth of movement and shared dynamics, the dancer's high, and the world-wide network of friends that you join.

WHICH STYLE OF SWING DANCE IS YOUR FAVOURITE?
It will surprise no-one at all to hear that my number one dance is Collegiate S**g. Lindy hop is not far behind, though!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT SOCIAL DANCING?
I love that every time you dance you are co-creating a unique, never-to-be-repeated, shared experience between you, your partner, the floor and the music.

WHAT MAKES SWING CENTRAL A GREAT PLACE TO DANCE?
Swing Central is the fulcrum of the swing calendar! Dancing together in a hall with history, sharing wonderful swinging music, embracing with old and new friends is always a delight.
