Queensland caravan owners – did you know?
From 1 January 2027, all Queensland registered caravans and motorhomes must have a photoelectric smoke alarm installed on the ceiling.
To comply, your smoke alarm must:
✅ Be photoelectric (not ionisation)
✅ Comply with AS 3786:2014
✅ Be mounted on the ceiling
✅ Be in working order
If you’re unsure whether your current smoke alarm meets the new requirements, now is a great time to check—before your next trip away.
