❤️ Red for Ted ❤️

Last Thursday evening, our Aqua Zumba community came together for a special Red for Ted class in honour of a much-loved member and friend.

Ted was a familiar face in our Group Fitness program for many years, participating in Aqua Zumba, Aqua Fitness and Living Stronger classes week after week. His dedication was inspiring, and his presence brought warmth and positivity to every class he attended.

A true gentleman, Ted was caring, kind and welcoming to everyone he met. He always had a smile ready to share, along with a cheeky joke that brightened the day of those around him. His impact on our community was immense, and he is deeply missed by instructors, staff and fellow participants alike.

Thank you to everyone who wore red and joined us in celebrating Ted's life and the incredible legacy he leaves behind within our SALC Group Fitness family.

Gone but never forgotten ❤️

🌟 Member Spotlight: Kim 🌟

Kim has been part of the Sunbury Aquatic and Leisure Centre community since moving to the area in 1996, making her one of our long standing and much loved members at SALC💙

For Kim, the pool is an important part of maintaining her health and wellbeing. Regular rehabilitation exercises in the water help keep her knees pain-free and allow her to stay active and mobile. Just as important are the friendships she's built over the years, with her pool buddies making every visit enjoyable and something to look forward to.

Kim says she's always greeted with a friendly smile from our reception team, and she appreciates how welcoming and supportive the lifeguards are each time she visits.

After completing her exercises in the pool, Kim says she feels her absolute best, both physically and mentally. The combination of movement, friendship, and a welcoming environment keeps her coming back.

We're proud to have Kim as part of our centre community and thank her for choosing SALC for nearly three decades! 💦✨

💜 Women's Health Week 2026 💜

Women's Health Week is the perfect time to put your health and wellbeing back on your priority list.

Regular exercise offers so many benefits, including:
✅ Improved fitness and strength
✅ Better sleep quality
✅ Reduced stress levels
✅ A healthier mindset
✅ Opportunities to connect with new people and build friendships

As we celebrate Women's Health Week, remember that it's not about being the best. It's about being a little healthier, stronger, and happier than you were yesterday.

The secret to staying active is finding an exercise you genuinely enjoy. Whether it's dancing like nobody's watching in Zumba, learning the basics of strength training in the gym, swimming a few laps in the pool, or focusing on your breath and movement in Yoga, there's something for everyone.

✨ Now is the time to invest in yourself. Take that first step, try something new, and make your health a priority. Because looking after yourself today means a healthier, happier future.
