🐴 CALLING ALL FILLIES!

The club is very keen to reinvigorate our girls cricket program, “the Fillies” this season.

The plan is to participate in the U15 Adelaide Hills Strikers Girls Cricket League with games to be played on a Sunday morning.

There are some fantastic pathways now available for female cricketers through SACA Women & Girls Community Cricket programs with the Eastern Falcons Senior Women’s team playing their home games at Strath.

If you’re keen to get involved in girls cricket at a community level then please reach out to the club. Dave Vanderzon will lead our Fillies team.

More details including come & try opportunities will be posted shortly. There is also the opportunity to drop into the club’s Junior Cricket Information/Open day this Sunday from 11am at the Strath Oval.

The club was very fortunate to enjoy an almost decade long partnership with CMV Farms pruning grapes during winter as our major fundraiser.

With the vineyard recently redeveloped we were forced to think outside the square on how we could replace that valuable revenue stream.

After successfully hosting the Alexandra & Eastern Hills Cricket Association end of season presentation dinner the idea came up of offering our services to cater for other similar events.

Now when we say ‘our’ we really mean Andy ‘Bundy’ Roberts who is the main man and this venture would not be possible without his expertise and skills in this space. Thanks Bundy!

Last night we were most grateful that our good friends at the Strathalbyn Netball Club entrusted us to cater for their end of season presentation dinner.

We hope that all in attendance had a great evening and congratulations to the SNC on a very successful season, including winning four premierships.

Well done to all the award winners and a special shout out to Leah Bertholini and Lisa Smith on being awarded Honorary Life Membership (even though the occasion did mean seeing our past president, Adam Smith in a netball frock! 🙈)

Finally thanks to all our club volunteers for giving up their time and to Georgia, Ella & Addy for assisting with serving.
