💛 A little reminder about the people behind Kindergym 💛

Sometimes it’s easy to see Kindergym as simply a session that happens each week — you arrive, the equipment is set up, the activities are ready, the session runs, and everyone heads home.
But behind those few hours is a small group of people putting in a lot of time and effort to keep Kindergym going.

Kindergym is run as a not-for-profit incorporated body. It isn’t a big organisation with a team of paid staff behind the scenes. It is largely run by just a few people, with many of the hours contributed voluntarily.

There are hours that people see — and many hours that they don’t.

Planning. Organising. Cleaning. Setting up and packing up all equipment each week. Administration. Emails and messages. Bookkeeping. Maintaining equipment. Keeping things running. Solving problems. Making sure the sessions can happen week after week.

A lot of this is done quietly, because the goal is simply to keep Kindergym available for our families and community. ❤️

Being run by such a small group also means we don't have a large pool of people to fall back on when something unexpected happens.

If one of our small team becomes unexpectedly sick, there may simply not be enough people available to safely run the session — and on those occasions, Kindergym may have to close. In some circumstances sickness of children or family members can also mean Kindergym is unable to go ahead.

We know cancellations can be disappointing, especially when you’ve planned your day around coming along. We understand that. We hope that knowing a little more about what happens behind the scenes helps everyone appreciate that Kindergym is being kept going by a small number of people who genuinely care, give up their time, and put in a huge amount of work to make it possible.

So next time you walk through the doors, please remember the people behind them. 💛 🚪

Kindergym exists because people give their time, energy and commitment to make it happen.
A little understanding, patience and appreciation goes a very long way. 🌼

🛑 Hello Kindergym families,

I regret to inform you that Kindergym will be closed Week 10 of Term 3. This applies to Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd of September, 2026.

There has been a lot of sickness and reports of Hand, Foot and Mouth in the past 2 weeks, with lots of children impacted by this, including my own. I hope that by closing this week leading into the 2 week holiday break, we can stop the spread and start off fresh for Kindergym Term 4! I hope you can understand this decision was not made lightly.

We are proud of the year we’ve had running Kindergym and so happy to have been able to keep it open for you and your children to enjoy!
