Benkalda Horse and Rider invites you to take part in our final Benkalda Challenge on Sunday 11th October. Browse through the patterns and obstacle courses for Beginner, Novice, Open and see which fits you best. Anything labelled a "competition" can be daunting however these are things you do most days with your horse and can be practiced at home. Break it down into small pieces and give it a go. Practice days will be available and if you've joined us for play dates much of this will be familiar. You never know what you are capable of until you give it a go. And if you never give it a go, you'll never know what you are capable of. See you at the Challenge.

We had so much fun at Benkalda today with our spring play date in the obstacle course. We'll put together an album for our visitors and if you have any photos to share please send them along. Everyone faced a few challenges with the number of horses and all the activity happening. There was a lot of patience shown and people were so engaged in keeping their horse safe and focused and also allowing plenty of "let down" time. Using the obstacles as a tool rather than as the end game allows your horse to tell you so much about how he/she feels and processes new experiences and today the riders were listening. Thanks for an amazing morning everyone.
