A little glimpse of what happens when we swap the yoga mats and reformer beds for art on the walls, live music, poetry, movement and a whole lot of people hanging out together.

We have 23 visual artists, 2 musicians, 3 poets and 2 dancers joining us, with a mix of both new and returning creatives sharing their work throughout the studio.

Come for the art. Stay for the music, the food, the conversations and whatever else unfolds throughout the afternoon.

Meet DEEJ, one of the artists AND musicians joining us for Emerge this October.

DEEJ is an Australian multidisciplinary artist from the Philippines, raised in Western Sydney. As a music producer, he experiments with ambient and electronic soundscapes using guitar and percussion.

He also co-hosts Inner Vision sessions with Luka Green, an ongoing live ambient music and community art-making event in Sydney.

At Emerge, DEEJ will be sharing both his visual art and music with us, which feels pretty bloody fitting for an exhibition bringing so many different forms of creativity under one roof.

Our 200 Hour Reformer Pilates Teacher Trainers ✨️

What an honour to have each and every single one of these humans guide our next tribe of reformer teachers, teachers that are sooooo very needed in our Western Sydney community (and beyond!).

We didnt have to make our training 200 hours, but we did, because we honestly believe that 6 months at 6 hours a week is a solid amount of time to make sure graduates feel confident to then join this industry feeling supported and as ready as they can be (tbh, we can honestly never feel ready, sometimes we just need to start too!).

Shoutout to the 9 people who are currently enrolled into our training which begins THIS SATURDAY the 5th of September at our Penrith Studio.

Is one last minute spot for you?

Roller dance every single Friday at 9.30am with is still totally a thing 🛼

I adoreeeeee this class. Ive (Annika) skated on and off for a few years. Ive always thought skating was like, the coolest thing ever, but lacked consistency.

Ally has been soooo so kind to me, helping fill in all the gaps and meeting me where I am at.

We know 9.30am Friday is not ideal for most BUT if for some reason you are one of the handful of people who is keen and free at that time, we would absolutley love to have you! All levels welcome 😘

Free Vinyasa Yoga at the gallery 🌿

We’re very excited to be teaching a series of FREE Friday morning Vinyasa Yoga classes at Penrith Regional Gallery, in the beautiful artist-designed garden at Lewers.

On the last Friday of each month, start your morning with movement amongst the trees, followed by time to wander through the Gallery before the usual crowds arrive. And if the weather isn’t on our side, we’ll simply move the class inside the Gallery.

Classes will be led by teachers from Nin Yoga (currently scheduled with Karen Gruber!) and are completely free to attend. Just make sure you book your spot in advance.

Upcoming dates:

Friday 28 August 2026
Friday 25 September 2026
Friday 30 October 2026
Friday 27 November 2026

After class, you can explore the exhibitions at your own pace or stay for a coffee and breakfast at Cafe at Lewers.

A very lovely way to start a Friday, if we do say so ourselves.

Free to attend. Bookings required:

Last week, I was able to leave the house and step away from the confines of injury recovery for a few hours to join our bimonthly Yoga Philosophy Book Club.

Does it go without saying that sitting in community with wonderful people is deeply healing for the soul?

I adore our community!

For this session, we explored Juan Mascaró’s translation of The Upanishads.

I know that the language and ideas found in yogic philosophy can sometimes feel overwhelming or confusing. But as our conversation unfolded, we began to recognise that texts like these are meant to be experienced slowly, contemplated and reflected on.

Each of us brought a different perspective and took something different from the discussion. We found our own ways of expressing the ideas that resonated with us, translating ancient teachings into language grounded in our own experiences.

Sam (who does an incredible job of curating and guiding these sessions) shared Emily Dickinson’s poem "Because I Could Not Stop for Death', alongside Taylor Swift’s song Evermore. Both conveyed her experience reading this text.

At their heart, these texts explore the same enduring questions we all find ourselves asking, whether in the quiet of the night or on a random Tuesday after spilling our coffee.

Texts like the Upanishads are not presenting us with unreachable or unfathomable ideals. They speak to something we already know and instinctively reach for as human beings through art, poetry, science, community, and the many other ways we seek to enrich our lives.

When we have the opportunity to reflect alongside others, conversation can unlock these ideas and allow us to approach them from entirely new angles. That is the beauty of exploring philosophy in community.

Nin Yoga is turning NINE.

Which feels slightly ridiculous to write.

On the 20th of September 2017, we opened the doors to Nin Yoga with absolutely zero business knowledge and, from memory, my only real piece of advice coming from the commercial property real estate agent who helped me inspect our first studio on Queen Street:

“Beg for forgiveness, not permission.”

Exceptionally unhinged advice.

And yet, somehow, here we are. Nine years later.

So we’re celebrating the only way that really makes sense to us: opening the studio up for a whole weekend of FREE CLASSES, books, treats and hanging out together.

Whether you’ve been coming to Nin for nine years, nine months, nine days, or you’ve never stepped through our doors before, you’re invited.

Nine years in, I think one of my favourite things about Nin Yoga is that it has never really just been about the yoga.

It’s the people.

The chats before class. The hanging around afterwards. The friendships that somehow started because two people kept putting their mats next to each other. The events. The books. The random conversations. The teachers and students who have come and gone and come back again. The familiar faces you see every week.

Nin has changed a LOT since I first opened those doors in 2017, but that part hasn’t.

So come take a free class. Come try something you’ve never done before. Come for the books. Come for the treats. Come hang around between things.

Come help us celebrate nine years of this weird and wonderful little community we somehow built together.

19th + 20th September
Nin Yoga, Penrith

Bookings are essential for classes, particularly Reformer Pilates as places are limited.

See you for our birthday weekend.
