Cricket Victoria is saddened to learn of the passing of former Victorian First Class cricketer Donald Mathieson (Cap #568), aged 95.

Donald represented Victoria in two First Class matches during the 1953/54 season and enjoyed a distinguished Premier Cricket career with Prahran Cricket Club, before later playing and coaching at Ringwood Cricket Club.

Our thoughts are with Donald’s family, friends, Prahran Cricket Club, Ringwood Cricket Club and the wider Victorian cricket community.

Cricket Victoria is pleased to announce the renewal of our partnership with Staying Alive Health, giving affiliated clubs the opportunity to apply for a fully funded Community Heart Safe Grant valued at more than $14,995.

Successful clubs will receive:
❤️ A Rotaid fully monitored and publicly accessible AED package
🩹 Accredited first aid training
🤝 Ongoing support

Together, these resources can help create a safer environment for players, coaches, volunteers and the wider community — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Grant allocations are limited, so eligible clubs are encouraged to register their interest before applications close on 30 September.
