FAT LOSS TIP THURSDAY π«π«π«
Adherence and consistency is key when it comes to fat loss. I try to encourage my clients to learn about the nutritional content of the foods they enjoy rather than viewing certain foods as "healthy" and "unhealthy". The truth is there really are no "good" and "bad" foods , there are just foods that are more supportive to your goals than others
A few little pointers.....
π It is often better to view a bar of chocolate as 250 calories of deliciousness as opposed to it being an "unhealthy" food choice
πAim to eat foods you enjoy in moderation throughout the WHOLE week as oppose to being "healthy" all week and "unhealthy" come the weekend
πRemove the word "cheat" from your vocabulary when it comes to food choices
π Track your foods for awhile and get to know the calories and macronutrient breakdown of your favourite foods
π Having a "healthy" week followed by a very "unhealthy" weekend can completely sabotage your health and physique goals
π Live a healthy, balanced lifestyle and understand that a pizza is not "unhealthy" it just has lots more calories and less nutrients than a salad πππ

And We Are Back....π«ππ«π
Not going to lie, it feels great to be back doing what I love this week, to be outdoors with my Shellbell Fitness Girls, to see their faces again, to laugh through some solid sweat sessions with them and to feel a sense of purpose on waking up in the morning!! I'm really excited for some sunnier, brighter and more positive days ahead....2020 isnt over just yet βοΈπβοΈπ

FAT LOSS TIP THURSDAY β¬οΈ
Today is just a little reminder that fat loss doesn't ALWAYS have to be the goal ππ
For me, there were stages in my life when losing body fat was a massive priority e.g. when I was doing the body building stuff and when I decided to become a personal trainer & felt I needed to go through the process I expected my clients to go through in order to be the best possible coach I could be. These were very different times/very career driven phases in my life where fat loss & more importantly learning about fat loss was at the forefront of my goals list.
These days - not so much! Now it's a case of hanging in there and doing the best we can π€π€π€ I think we can all agree life is a little different right now and if you had a fat loss goal prior to all of this and are struggling to make progress THAT IS OK! I'm not saying give up on your fat loss goal - rather shift your goal post IF it's just proving too challenging at the moment. Set some smaller daily goals that you know will make you feel good, stay off the scales if you have an emotional attachment to them, don't feel you HAVE to be productive or lose weight during this time just because you are seeing people post this sorta s**t on social media! Nobody knows YOUR journey... so you just do YOU and what feels good for YOU right now! πβ€
I am personally delighted with myself that I can still lift 90kg up and down of the ground for a few reps and my cardiovascular fitness is definitely up since all of this. I still commit to eating my vegetables daily and I am proud I haven't ate Coles completely out of Cadbury's Marble Bar (just yet) π
Anyone else have small wins they'd like to share?! π€β¬οΈπ€

AUGUST STEP CHALLENGE π«ππ
New Month Means New Goals And We Are All Squatted Out! π ππββοΈ
I am running a step challenge with my Shellbell Fitness Girls for the month of August. I'll be encouraging them to do at least 10,000 steps daily but appreciate that plenty of people now more than ever (working from home/less travel etc/sitting at desks at all day long/cold evenings) are leading quite sedentary lifestyles and may need to build up to this.
Save this and set yourself a little target to move more daily. Take one day at a time and by the end of August you may have formed new habits that mean you hit 10,000 steps daily regardless of what your daily schedule looks like ππ―ββοΈπ
Get walking people! Tag me with your step count if you give it a go π«ππ«

SNACKS ππ¦π©π
I'm personally a proper little snacker. Love a snack with a cup of tea βπ« Posting some of my favs here that don't blow the calorie budget but are still pretty satisfying. Strawberries and blueberries are so handy to have in the fridge. Teamed with yoghurt and chia seeds (yo pros and chobani fit are both great) they are a high protein, high fibre snack π₯° The little chobani pouches are so handy when you are on the go! I love the coconut flavour. No spoon needed, teamed with a piece of fruit you have a very handy high protein, high fibre snack under 200 cals. The Fibre One range of bars are pretty tasty with a cuppa and Il opt for a freddo πΈ if I need a chocolate fix but would rather not eat an entire block πββοΈπ·π
What's your favourite snack? Ideas welcome! I'm so boring with my food π΄π΄π΄
