Meet Antonio Morris, Captain of the UWI Cave Hill Cricket Team and talented Barbadian all-rounder, representing Team Blackbirds at UWI Games 2026.

A third-year International Tourism Management student and batting all-rounder, Antonio has represented both Barbados and the West Indies at multiple levels, including the West Indies U15 and U19 World Cups. His cricket journey has been marked by outstanding performances, earning him the title of Emerging Youth Cricketer in 2018, along with Cricket West Indies MVP and Most Runs honours in the same year.

A timeless message given by Antonio teaches us to: “Believe in yourself when no one else does, that makes you a winner right there.”

Meet Neil King, Captain of the UWI Cave Hill Tennis Team and one of Barbados’ rising tennis talents, representing Team Blackbirds at UWI Games 2026.

A first-year Information Technology student and Player #1 on the tennis team, Neil has built an impressive competitive record, including representing Barbados twice at the World Tennis Juniors Championship. His achievements also include being a Junior Davis Cup player, a 2-time Men’s Open Nationals Finalist and a Top 8 Nationals Finalist.

An inspirational quote from Neil reminds us that: “Discipline is choosing between what you want now and what you want most.”

Meet Kanye Wharton, co-leader of the UWI Cave Hill Male Hockey Team and standout national hockey player, representing Team Blackbirds at UWI Games 2026.

Pursuing a degree in Sports Science, Kanye has already made his mark on the regional hockey stage, serving as U21 Captain at JPAC 2023 and the Junior Pan American Challenge. With 6 international goals in 10 appearances for Barbados and accolades including Scrimfest MVP 2026, he continues to showcase leadership and excellence both on and off the field.

An inspiration quote provided by Kanye serves as a powerful reminder to all sportspersons: “Play for the name on the front and they’ll remember the name on the back.”

Jemari Trotman proudly wears two hats as he also serves as Captain of the UWI Cave Hill Male Table Tennis Team, representing Team Blackbirds at UWI Games 2026.

Balancing academics in Sports Science with leadership in sport and fitness, Jemari exemplifies determination in every aspect of his journey. His return to competitive sport following a serious injury reflects remarkable resilience and commitment to excellence.

Using his talents and experiences to motivate and uplift others, Jemari continues to inspire both on and off the table.
