Centenary Pool has been part of Brisbane’s story since opening in 1959. For generations, it has been a place for learning to swim, school days, family memories, diving, friendships and countless summer days. Now, as this iconic heritage-listed pool prepares to close for its next chapter and the transformation towards the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, we want to take a moment to celebrate its incredible legacy. 🏊‍♀️✨

As part of SPARK Conference 2026, the Australian Swim Schools Association (ASSA), Ampd Academy (RTO: 31946) and Aquatics & Recreation Queensland (ARQ) are teaming up to take over the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre for an attempt at the WORLD’S LARGEST AQUA AEROBICS CLASS! 🌎💦

As we prepare to farewell lessons at Centenary, we're not saying goodbye to its legacy.
We're carrying it forward.

The site will become the future National Aquatic Centre, helping inspire the next generation of Australian swimmers and creating a lasting legacy for Brisbane long after the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

For our Rackley Swimming families, the journey continues too.

We're working behind the scenes on an exciting new nearby location, with our goal of keeping families together, teachers together and lessons continuing with as little disruption as possible.

Because while buildings may change...
The people, memories and love of swimming are what truly make a place special. 💙

For almost seven decades, families have come to Centenary to learn one of life's most important skills.

Long before elite facilities existed across Queensland, Centenary was Brisbane's premier competition venue, inspiring generations to chase their dreams in the water.

Today, that legacy lives on through every child learning to swim with confidence.
