Training hard doesn’t always mean training effectively. 👊
If you’re showing up, putting in the effort, and still barely seeing progress, the problem might not be how hard you’re working, it could be the structure behind your training.
Your program should have a purpose:
âś… Exercises that match your goal
âś… Progression you can actually track
âś… The right balance of strength and conditioning
âś… Enough recovery to keep improving
Stop relying on random workouts and hoping they eventually add up.
Train with a plan. Progress with purpose.
If you’re ready for a program built around your goals, comment READY or DM me and let’s get you moving forward. 💪

Today isn’t just another day, it’s another chance to get closer to the person you’re working to become. 🔥
You don’t have to fix everything overnight. Just show up, put in the work, and do something today that yesterday’s version of you couldn’t.
One more rep. One more session. One more step forward.
Progress is built on days like this. đź’Ş
Keep going. Your next breakthrough could be closer than you think.
Still calling 5 minutes on the treadmill your “warm-up”? 👀
Getting your heart rate up is only part of it.
A proper warm-up should help you:
âś… Prepare your joints for movement
✅ Activate the muscles you’re about to use
âś… Fire up your nervous system
âś… Get your body ready to actually perform
You don’t need to exhaust yourself before the session even starts; you need to prime your body for what’s coming. 💪

Monday reminder: you don’t owe the old version of you your loyalty.
You’re allowed to change your mind, raise your standards, leave old habits behind, and become someone your past self wouldn’t even recognise.
Growth will sometimes feel uncomfortable because it asks you to let go of what once felt familiar.
New week. New choices. Keep moving forward. 💪🔥
Most people don’t need another fitness hack. They need to stop believing the things slowing their progress down.
Sweating more doesn’t automatically mean you burned more fat.
Lifting weights won’t suddenly make you “bulky.”
Hundreds of crunches won’t reveal your abs.
You don’t need a shelf full of supplements to make progress.
And rest days? They’re part of the program, not time wasted.
The basics still win:
Train with a plan.
Progress your strength.
Build your conditioning.
Eat to support your goal.
Recover properly.
Stay consistent long enough to see the result.
Especially if you’re preparing for a military or police fitness test, you can’t afford to build your training around myths, fear, or whatever workout happens to be trending that week.
You need training that actually prepares you for the standard you’ll be tested on.
Stop chasing what looks hard.
Start doing what works.
Not sure if your current training is actually preparing you for your fitness test? DM “READY” and we’ll help you figure out what needs work.
Failure isn’t the opposite of progress. Sometimes, it’s part of it.
You miss the rep.
You fall short.
You try again.
And again.
And again.
Until one day, the weight that once stopped you moves.
The pace that once broke you becomes manageable.
The version of you that wanted to quit becomes the one who keeps showing up.
Success isn’t built from getting everything right the first time.
It’s built from refusing to let one bad attempt become your final attempt.
Fail. Learn. Adjust. Try again.
Keep going. You’re closer than you think. 🔥
If you're an aspiring military, police, or first responder working on your fitness to get yourself better prepared, and your current approach is not working for you, then that is a clear indication you need to try a different approach.
As the saying goes, "No change, no change."
But here's the good news: you don't have to figure it all out on your own.
If you feel like you've been stuck or hitting a plateau, and you're unsure on the best approach to take to your training, your nutrition, and your overall strategy to get to where you need to be, comment the word "READY" on this post.
I'll reach out to see if what we do here at Recruit Ready Fitness might be a good fit to get you where you need to be.
If you’re planning to join the military, Army or Police, stop asking:
“What’s the minimum I need to pass?”
Start asking:
“How fit do I need to be so the minimum isn’t difficult?”
Because your fitness test won’t care that you smashed your push-ups last Tuesday when you were fresh.
You need to be able to run, recover, produce reps, control your breathing and keep performing when fatigue starts stacking up.
Here’s a simple way to assess your current preparation:
1. Test your running capacity.
Can you comfortably run 2–3km without needing to stop?
If not, your aerobic base needs work before you start obsessing over speed.
2. Test your bodyweight strength.
Push-ups, sit-ups and pull-ups shouldn’t only look good in your first set.
Track how quickly your numbers drop when you’re already tired.
3. Stop training every event separately.
Once you’ve built the basics, start combining them.
Run → Push-Ups
Beep Test Intervals → Sit-Ups
Conditioning → Bodyweight Work
Your test doesn’t happen in perfect gym conditions, so eventually your training shouldn’t either.
4. Identify the ONE thing most likely to fail you.
Running?
Beep test?
Push-ups?
Strength endurance?
Recovery between events?
That weakness should influence how your program is structured.
This is where most aspiring recruits waste months.
They train hard, but they don’t train according to what’s actually holding them back.
If you’re serious about joining and you want to know exactly what you should be working on right now, comment READY.
We’ll help you identify your biggest weakness and what you need to start fixing before test day.
Training harder isn’t always the answer. Training the right weakness first is.
If you’re preparing for military entry standards, your program shouldn’t be built around whatever workout looks hardest that day.
It should be built around what is currently holding your performance back.
Struggling to maintain your pace during runs or the beep test?
Your conditioning needs work. Build the engine.
Strong at the start but falling apart once fatigue sets in?
You may need more strength and work capacity so your body can keep producing force under pressure.
The goal isn’t to choose between strength or endurance.
The goal is to develop both — while putting more attention on the one that’s stopping you from performing at the standard you need.
Because test day doesn’t care how good you are at one thing fresh.
You need to be able to run, push, carry, recover and keep performing when fatigue starts stacking up.
Find the weak link. Train it with purpose. Then build the complete recruit.
If you’re preparing for enlistment and want a program built around your current fitness level and testing requirements, comment READY or send us a DM.
A gentle Monday reminder: you don’t need to have everything figured out today.
Progress isn’t always about pushing harder. Sometimes, it’s simply about showing up, doing what you can, and trusting that the small efforts are still moving you forward.
One session at a time. One choice at a time. One step closer.
Start the week with patience, stay consistent, and give yourself room to grow.
