The inaugural Doug Burt’s Tackle World Ladies Flathead Shootout is almost here, and we would love to see more incredible women and junior girls out on the Gold Coast Broadwater on Saturday, 25 July 2026.

Whether you’re a seasoned angler, a first-timer, fishing with friends, your daughters, or joining as part of a skippered or charter team, this event is all about fun, friendship and a little healthy competition. Teams of two or three will battle it out for fantastic prizes, random draws and bragging rights.

What a way to wrap up Round 1 of the Wilson Elite Series! 🔥

Just look at the size of these flatheads! Congratulations to Darcy Carmody in the winning team, Liquor Legends, who landed the biggest flathead of the day, measuring an incredible 91cm, followed by another monster at 87cm, caught on a Wilson Duo Tide Minnow.

A huge thank you to Wilson Fishing for their incredible sponsorship of this fantastic tournament, which attracted more than 150 anglers for Round 1.

The bar has certainly been set high, and we can’t wait to see what Round 2 has in store!

What happened on the Wilson Elite Series Round 1 leaderboard after dark tonight?

At 6:00 pm, Sunday the official online results will be posted, and the competition took another exciting turn as anglers eagerly checked the latest standings.

🏆 Announcements were made on the Gold Coast Sportfishing Club page, with our current leaders and standout catches revealed for everyone to see.

With Round 1 delivering some incredible fish and plenty of movement on the leaderboard, the pressure is building as competitors chase valuable points in the inaugural Wilson Elite Series.
