“The ACA supports the call from 23 former International cricket captains to the Pakistan government to provide humane treatment and proper medical care to former Pakistan and NSW player Imran Khan. Like many in cricket, we are concerned for Imran’s wellbeing and hope this request can be met.”

The last month before the 2026-27 Australian domestic season kicks off has come and gone! Let's recap August:

1 & 2. The Men's Australian Cricket Awards were announced, with Travis Head being crowned the Allan Border Medallist for the second year in a row! Mitch Starc was named Men's Test Player of the Year, while Mitch Marsh and Tim David were named the Men's ODI and T20I Players of the Year respectively. Congratulations to the well-deserved winners 👏
3 & 4. The Men's Test team's series against Bangladesh finished in a 1-1 draw, after they won the second Test in Mackay by an Innings.
5. Aussies Ash Gardner, Beth Mooney, Kim Garth and Sam Bates were all winning members of the Trent Rockets side that cruised to victory in the Final of The Hundred in the UK. Congratulations 🤩
6. Elsewhere in The Hundred - teammates Annabel Sutherland and Phoebe Litchfield finished first and second in the runs for the campaign, while Georgia Voll (fourth) and Ellyse Perry (seventh) were also in the top ten 🙌
7. In the Men's Hundred, Mitch Marsh topped the runs leaderboard, and fellow ACA Member Matt Short also enjoyed a successful campaign, finishing tenth for runs scored 👏
8. A couple of incredible milestones were reached in the two Test series up north. In the First Test, Josh Hazlewood became just the ninth Australian man to take 300 Test wickets, while in the Second Test, Mitchell Starc entered the top ten all-time men's Test Wicket takers. Congratulations to Josh and Mitch 👏 🫡
