Another fantastic turnout for our Veterans Competition on Tuesday, with 95 players taking to the course.

Results 1st - Bob Turns - 44 points
2nd - Stephen Castle - 43 points (countback)
3rd - Brian Baldwin - 43 points

17th - Athol Green - 232cm

2nd Shot 4th - Peter Tzinavaras - 284cm

Balls went down to 33 points on a countback.

Grafton Veterans Open Day Results

On a very warm Monday, 21 September 2026, Grafton Golf Club proudly hosted our annual Veterans Open Day. We welcomed players from 13 visiting clubs, along with 13 Grafton members, making for a fantastic day of golf and camaraderie.

2nd - Jennifer Overhall (Forster Tuncurry) - 41 points
3rd - Stephen Wi******er (Ballina) - 40 points
4th - Peter Lake (Woodburn-Evans Head) - 39 points (countback)

Forty one ladies were able to enjoy mild weather, albeit a bit showery, for the Champagne Friendship day to play the 18 Hole stableford🍾🍰🥂⛳️⛳️⛳️
The overall winner sponsored by Jen Townsend, Denise Llewelyn and Cheryl Shanley was Jane Wolfe with a magnificent 43 points. That score should put Jane in the running for the end of the year's Vet's Shootout.
Division 1 winner was Peg James with a great 39 points followed by Sue Petty , also on 39. Mary Atkins was third with 37 points and Kaye Murdoch had 35 for fourth place.
Division 2 winner was Sharyn Rowles with an impressive 40 points. Jan Patterson had 39 points for second place followed by Cheryl Shanley and Christine Stephenson third and fourth respectively, both with 37 points.
The Nearest the Pins went to Kaye Murdoch on the Holiday Coast Meats and Smallgoods sponsored 1st hole; Heather Purtill on the Clarence Valley Tyre Centre sponsored 6th hole; Mary Atkins on the Greensill Bros 10th hole for Division 1 and 2, and to Noeline Smith for Division 3; and Jane Wolfe for the Mt Zion Quarry sponsored second shot on the 17th hole.
Ladies who scored better than 34 earned a ball prize and they were Rhonda Studd, Millie Harris, Judy McFarlane, Di Alderman, Di Chapman, Sue Byrnes, Kerry Harding, Dell Burke, Noeline Smith, and Helen Packwood.

The Grafton Women's Golf committee hosted about 20 past members of the Grafton Golf Club on Wednesday. Enjoy the photos of our beloved former players who were treated to a short tour of the course, along with a delicious afternoon tea supplied by the current Grafton women members.
