2026 Victorian Coach of the Year!

Congratulations David White, 2026 Coach of the Year recipient.

David, Sailing Manager at SSCBC, consistently goes above and beyond his role, from coordinating Vic Youths Coaching Clinic developing a Coach Development Day and assisting with the Vic Para Wing program. David took the Australian Optimist Worlds team to Tangier, delivering the country's best result in a decade. Locally, he's built the SSCBC Academy into a genuine success story, growing junior and Adult Couta Boat participation while helping organise team racing events across the Opti, Youth and Open 2K classes. David has also trained up to be an Australian Sailing Senior Coach helping develop the next group of coaches. From grassroots coaching to international results, his impact makes him a standout recipient of Coach of the Year.

Thank you to everyone who attended Saturday's Wine and Food evening, with . Feedback from one of our Members: "The food was amazing. Wine presentation excellent with lots of questions from the guests. Trofeo is Italian for trophy and they are famous for their ancient method of wine production using terracotta amphora, allowing for a more pure fruit expression".
The menu consisted of a four course dinner with matching wines, including:
Sourdough bread, whipped butter
Albacore tuna and ocean trout ceviche, buttermilk dressing, apple, caviar
Smoked wild mushroom tortellini, parmesan cream
Wagyu sirloin, celeriac, beetroot, kipfler potato, red wine jus
Lemon curd, vanilla pear, frozen yoghurt, meringue.
