Day 8 - Last day of Rugby today against Christchurch Girls School. This game was outside of our tournament and was against the girls who welcomed us into their soace last night. They were lovely enough to lend us 3 reserves. Our girls started off slow but once we got into the swing of things they had another great game.
We then went back and again had pizza and games with the girls but this time the sun made an appearance. We had a short presentation where gifts were exchanged before heading back to the house.
There was free time and cleaning to be done before our farewell dinner where Guy Sebastian and his entourage showed up 🤣🤣

Day 7 - Off on a City Tour on a rainy morning. We had the bus take us around Christchurch and show us some of the sights and devastation that is still left from the earthquakes.
We were then onto the Gondola. Where the wind and rain picked up and the view was very limited. There were some brave faces and white knuckles on the trip up and down haha.
Lastly the Dads took the girls to meet with the Christchurch girls before their match tomorrow which involved games and some cultural singing and dancing while the Mums had a much needed couple of hours off for dinner.
Some of the girls then presented our overnight staff Julie with a jersey and some flowers as a thanks for her help, kindness and patience.
Raggedy Ann accompanied the girls last night 😂

Day 6 - 🐥🐰 HAPPY EASTER 🐰🐥
A healthy serve of chocolate for breakfast 😝before heading to our last tournament game. We were lucky enough that the rain held out for our game just lol. Again the girls stepped up a notch and…………we came away with a convincing win!!
The rain then kicked in and after a conversation with the Maitland girls after our friday games we were happy to help each other out with a couple of reserves. Thank you to the Maitland girls that helped us out and thank you to Abbey, April, Ella, Racheal and Ruby for stepping up and helping Maitland out. The rain came down but it didn’t slow you girls down.
We then headed over to the Christchurch Girls School for a festival presentation. Wow those pizzas went quick 😂 Congratulations to Ruby the girls voted and picked you as the MVP. Everyone should again feel proud of the level of rugby that was played.
Tonight a shady character was having dinner with us 🤣

Day 5 - Today we were off to Henmer Springs Attractions. We seen some beautiful country side on the bus ride out and our first stop was the Jet Boats. We sped down the Waiau River canyon and were informed that they only needed 10cm of water under the boat to function and will pump out 760 litres of water per second 😅 there was laughter, there was screams and there was water.
We then stopped off in Henmer Springs town to try out their pies, have a wander and check out the markets before heading over to the hot springs.
The thermal pools were enjoyed for soothing aching muscles and the slides were enjoyed for the adrenaline rush.
We picked up farmer Chris from the bull paddocks on the way back and he joined us for dinner 😂

Day 4 - Game day baby 🖤❤️
Two games today and although we didn’t come away with a win the girls walked away with confidence and an awesome experience. They played the best we’ve seen them play and really stepped up against some tuff competition. Every single one of them should be super proud of themselves. Our girls also made the NZ news. We have some photos but I think a couple of parents will have some pretty good pictures to share.
Next we were off to Apollo Projects Stadium for the Crusaders v Blues games. We got just a light coat of rain 🌧️🛁😂 but we got excited, we got loud and we got on the big screen. We watched a tight game where the Crusaders came away with the win right on full time with a penalty conversion. The girls then got some signatures and photos with the players. Fun was had by all.
All in all a good day even with the rain ❤️🖤
And our pirate not only made an appearance at dinner but came to the game too 😂

Day 3 - The day started off with a celebrity breakfast with a couple of Black Ferns, Phillipa Love & Amy Rule. The girls were down to earth and had some great advice for the girls.
We then moved onto Ferrymead Paintball where the battle was on for young and old and maybe the cameraman too 😂 thanks Rob! Some faired better than others haha
Next was some sightseeing and shopping before a Ko Tane Waka Cultural Experience. We got a sample of traditional Māori life paddling down the Avon River through the centre of Christchurch. The he ha got loud as a race took place and the girls competitiveness came to the surface Captain Ella’s boat proving victorious. The boys were super knowledgeable about their tribes and gave the girls a run down of the meaning behind their haka.
Finally tonight’s class clown showed up for dinner 😂
