THANK YOU FOR THE OVERWHELMING SUPPORT & NUMBER OF SIGNATURES ON OUR PETITION!

The Yorta Yorta Turtles Basketball Club would like to say a massive THANK YOU to every single person who signed and shared our petition, supported our families and believed in what we have been trying to achieve.

The overwhelming number of signatures showed just how many people in our community wanted their voices heard. Every signature mattered. Every share mattered. Every person who stood beside us mattered.

For a long time, our club, families and supporters have worked tirelessly to advocate for a basketball environment where every child and family feels safe, respected and welcome — regardless of culture, background or where they come from.

Our fight was never about tearing basketball down. It was about pushing for positive change, cultural safety, inclusion, accountability and a better environment for ALL.

With the announcement that the GSBA Committee of Management has resigned and Basketball Victoria is preparing to take control of the association, we hope this represents an opportunity for a positive new chapter for basketball in our community.

To everyone who signed the petition, shared it, spoke up, supported us, listened to our concerns and encouraged us to keep going — THANK YOU.

We now look forward to a basketball community where all cultures are respected, racism has no place, children come first and everyone has the opportunity to belong.
