A Reminder to All Social Netball VIC Players

As our competition continues to grow, we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone of the standards we expect from all players, captains and spectators.

Over the past few weeks, we've received some feedback regarding behaviour on court that does not reflect the values of our competition. While the vast majority of teams play in the right spirit, it's important that we address this as a whole competition.

Social Netball VIC was created to provide a fun, welcoming and inclusive environment where people can enjoy a game of netball with friends, family and work colleagues. Winning is great, but respect for one another will always come first.

Please remember:
🏐 Respect your teammates, opponents, umpires and staff.
🏐 Aggressive behaviour, bullying, intimidation and abuse will not be tolerated.
🏐 Unnecessary swearing or negative comments directed at others are not acceptable.
🏐 Respect the decisions of our umpires. Many are developing through our mentoring program and, without them, we simply couldn't run our competition.
🏐 If an issue arises during a game, please don't retaliate. Speak to one of our staff members and allow us to deal with it appropriately.

Our Code of Conduct is in place to ensure everyone has a positive experience. Where necessary, breaches of the Code of Conduct may result in warnings or player suspensions.

We are incredibly proud of the community we've built and want every player—whether they're new to netball or have played for years—to feel comfortable, safe and excited to come each week.

Thank you to everyone who continues to play the game with respect, sportsmanship and the right attitude. Let's all work together to keep Social Netball VIC a competition that everyone enjoys being part of. 💙🏐

New to umpiring? No problem! 🙌
We have a fantastic mentor team who will support you every step of the way until you’re confident to go solo. It’s never too late to start, and we also welcome young umpires to learn alongside our experienced, badged umpires.

Without umpires, we simply can’t play the sport we love ❤️
