Shepparton Youth Club (SYC) is a local family-oriented field hockey club. We welcome players of all If sports are not you forte that’s no worries.
At SYC we offer a fun supportive environment to learn, socialise and keep fit. We want you to be a part of our club. We have social memberships available and there are also voluntary roles that might interest you such as our wonderful committee. It's finals time!!!
Get on down to the smurf turf this weekend to watch our teams duke it out for a spot in the grand finals to join our U13's and Men's Blue teams. It's going to be an action packed day.

Yesterday was a big day for the SYC family; lines were drawn and sides were picked for the Semi-Final face off of SYC Blue vs SYC Yellow.
The two teams did not disappoint the supporters, drawing at the final siren 2-2.
Nail-biting penalty shootouts followed to find out who would progress straight to the Grand Final, and who would get a second chance in the Preliminary Final.
It went down the the wire, with SYC Blue coming out victors 5-4 in the shootout.
Well done to both teams. We encourage everyone to get down to the pitch next week to barrack for SYC Yellow, and hopefully make it a SYC/SYC Grand Final!!

This weekend the SYC family have come together to honor and celebrate the life of Gary Neilsen.
Gary was a great supporter of hockey and especially junior hockey with all three sons Michael, Richard and Jono all donning the SYC colours over the years.
Gary was a pivotal member of our club taking on many roles and responsibilities over his time with us such as club president and committee member to name a few. His attitude and tenets instilled into SYC a legacy of values that still continues to this day. Gary served the greater hockey community as part of the Goulburn Valley Hockey Association committee and held the office of Vice-President of the GVHA.
Gary touched the lives of people in many different ways. Most importantly Gary has been a loving husband, father and grandfather. A friend to all.
SYC Scorchers send our love to the entire Neilsen family. We are privileged to have been a small part of his amazing life. He will be missed.

Come on down to the smurf turf this Saturday to watch some great SYC hockey and also to see some of our very own SYC talent taking to the field with North West Lightning Hockey
Charlotte Stevens will be taking to the field in the Women's match at 3pm.
Ryan MacKenzie, Matt Irwin, Axel Irwin and Leigh Forte will take to the field in the men's reserve match at 430pm.

Great weekend of hockey coming up this week! Along with our amazing SYC teams playing all day, North West Lightning senior teams will be playing on the smurf turf as well. Come down and watch some of our own SYC and GVHA players take the field for NWL.
