A good competitive start, creating some turnovers and getting the ball down to lead 13–10 after the first quarter.

The second quarter saw more of the same, with turnovers turning into goals and Seymour leading by five at half-time.

The third quarter started well but we lost our way, before coming out firing in the fourth quarter. The defensive pressure saw us stack on the goals and survive another week.

A few nerves in the first half of the quarter, but then we settled to win the quarter by one.

It was a physical game that the girls took on with great strength, discipline and skill.

An amazing team effort by all the players to take a 17-goal convincing win.

Week one of finals done and dusted and onwards and upwards to next week.

What a start to finals. The girls came away with a beautiful win after working hard from the very first whistle to the last, even with the sun absolutely scorching.

Chloe Locke was on fire in goals and could not miss, while Taylah Mason and Sophie Locke worked tirelessly down in defence, applying plenty of pressure and creating some great turnovers.

A fantastic win and fantastic team effort, and the perfect way to kick off our finals campaign. One final down, bring on the next week of finals.

Seymour 25 def by Swans 33

A nervous start for our young cubs in their first finals experience.

Down by 10 at half-time, they dug deep to outscore the Swans but were unable to reduce the margin, with the Swans putting on a fight to the end.

The young Lions showed how far they have developed as a group and were praised by coach Kelly Smith for a great 2026 season. We are sure this group will experience finals again in the near future.

Bendigo Strikers are thrilled to announce the signing of Ally Black for the 2027 season! 👏

Ally brings a wealth of VNL experience to the Strikers, having spent three seasons with Ariel before most recently playing three seasons with Boroondara Express.

An accomplished goaler, Ally currently lines up in A Grade with Seymour Football Netball Club, alongside our very own Championship player Elle
Nexhip.

We’re excited to have Ally on board and can’t wait to see her take the court in a Strikers dress in 2027! 💙
