Exercise can’t do all the work alone.

Your food choices, portions and overall eating patterns can also influence weight management. Sustainable progress comes from movement and balanced nutrition working together. 💪🥗

I don’t know who needs to hear this today, but struggling doesn’t mean you’re failing.

When your mind feels overwhelmed, even everyday tasks—like tidying the house, answering messages or getting through your routine—can feel difficult to manage.

Depression doesn’t always look like sadness. It may appear as irritability, exhaustion, withdrawal, difficulty concentrating, changes in sleep or appetite, or losing interest in things you once enjoyed.

These signs do not automatically mean someone has depression, but if they persist or interfere with daily life, speaking with a GP or psychologist may help.

You don’t have to manage everything at once. You deserve support—and help is available when you’re ready.

Did you know your brain may respond to exercise after just one session? 🧠

A single session of moderate-to-vigorous physical activity may help reduce short-term anxiety symptoms and improve sleep. With regular activity, the benefits can build—supporting mood, concentration and overall wellbeing.

When you move, your brain releases chemicals such as endorphins and serotonin, which are associated with improved mood.

And physical activity doesn’t only mean going to the gym. Walking, cycling, dancing, gardening and active household tasks all count. The best place to begin is with movement that is safe, manageable and realistic for you.

Exercise isn’t a cure or a replacement for professional mental health care—but it can be a valuable part of a broader mental-health support plan.

Sometimes, progress begins with understanding what sits beneath the difficulty. 🧠

Psychometric testing uses carefully selected, standardised tools to explore areas such as cognitive abilities, learning, memory, behaviour and everyday functioning—depending on the purpose of the assessment.

It can help:

✓ Identify individual strengths and areas of difficulty
✓ Clarify learning or developmental concerns
✓ Inform practical recommendations
✓ Guide more personalised support at home, school or in clinical care

Psychometric testing is not a pass-or-fail exam or a diagnosis on its own. A psychologist interprets the results alongside relevant history, interviews, observations and individual circumstances to develop a more complete picture.

Perfect Fit Health Solutions offers psychometric testing. Contact us to discuss whether an assessment may be appropriate for you or your child. 💙

Did you know the order of ingredients on a food label actually matters? 🔍

In Australia, ingredients are listed in descending order by ingoing weight—the amount added when the food was manufactured.

That means:

✅ The first ingredient contributed the greatest amount
✅ The last ingredient contributed the smallest amount

Why read the label? It can help you:

✔️ Understand what’s in the product
✔️ Compare similar foods more accurately
✔️ Identify declared allergens
✔️ Make choices that better suit your health and nutritional needs

Remember, the ingredient list is only one part of the picture. Check the Nutrition Information Panel too—especially the per 100 g or 100 mL column when comparing similar products.

Reading labels isn’t about eating “perfectly.” It’s about making informed choices with confidence.

It's Monday...Late for work? That’s deadline training—not cardio. 😂😜💼

Carbs aren’t the enemy—and diabetes doesn’t mean removing them from your plate.

Carbohydrates are broken down into glucose, so the type and amount you eat can affect your blood glucose levels. However, not all carbohydrate foods offer the same nutritional value.

Higher-fibre choices such as wholegrains, legumes, fruit and vegetables provide important nutrients, support fullness and may produce a steadier rise in blood glucose than highly processed carbohydrates.

A Dietitian can help you:

✅Choose carbohydrates that suit your needs
✅Understand appropriate portions
✅Learn carbohydrate counting when required
✅Read food labels with confidence
✅Support your weight, cholesterol and blood pressure goals
✅Build an eating plan around your health, culture and lifestyle

Diabetes nutrition isn’t about fearing food—it’s about understanding it. The right balance looks different for everyone.

Your muscles do more than move you—they also help manage blood glucose. 💪

During physical activity, working muscles use glucose for energy. Regular exercise can also improve insulin sensitivity, supporting blood glucose management as part of an overall diabetes care plan.

Because responses to exercise can vary depending on diabetes type, medications and other health conditions, a personalised approach matters. Our Exercise Physiologist and Diabetes Educator can help you better understand your condition and develop a safe, personalised management plan.
