The long-awaited final of the Seaforth Bowling Club Men's Triples Championship was held today (August 29), with Marc Alessi, John Mitchell and Daniel Trevor proving too strong for Garry Enfield, Bob Heffernan and Trevor Wallen.
Marc's team got off to a flyer in the opening ends and maintained control throughout the match. Building an early lead, they never looked back and were declared champions after 18 ends with an unassailable and impressive scoreline of 33-5.
Despite the one-sided result, there was some excellent bowling from both sides, and the match was played in excellent spirit, with both teams displaying great sportsmanship under mostly clear, sunny skies. Congratulations to Marc, John and Daniel on their championship victory.
A special thank you to Peter Cole for umpiring the final, although the excellent conduct of both teams meant his services were happily underutilised.

Wonderful work by Seaforth Grade 6, who have played their way into the Final of the State Grade 6 Open Pennant this afternoon at Ballina. Seaforth had a very good win over Kempsey Heights in their semi-final, with two of the three rinks posting large wins and a narrow loss on the third rink, taking the big board 67-44. All the best to Seaforth in their quest to become the State Grade 6 champions!
