Sale Bowls Club

Yet another lovely day for bowls today! We have been so lucky. Today we had 42 players for our Saturday social comp. We played 3 bowls triples, which is a nice change from 242. Thanks Pam for the banana cake- delicious!the bowls photo stream is beginning on the TVs in our Mavis room! It’s a good start to getting some memorabilia into Mavis’s room for us bowlers!
Pennant starts on 6th & 10th of Oct, so that will come up quickly.

What an absolutely perfect day for our very competitive Thursday pairs!! Players have missed out, as we fill up so quickly in this popular social comp!
22 teams enjoyed playing. Don’t for get out opening day on Saturday 5th September starting at 1 pm. If you could whip up a ginger fluff or slice for afternoon tea, it would be worth coming even if it’s only for the goodies!
Also we have a working bee on Wednesday 2nd to spruce the place up a bit! 9am start, bring your own tools!
We welcomed Mat Higgins who is the coach of the State Para teams. He has also played at state level! A very accomplished bowler for one so young.
The Keurnigs from Traralgon played, Sandy from Stratford, and another new member to Sale, Stephen from Neerim Sth.

Today, after all the rain overnight, turned into quite a nice mild afternoon. 28 keen bowlers played for the win! We welcome new bowlers, Lindy & Peter Grant, who enjoyed their first social bowls games. Our senior bowlers! sorry our experienced bowlers all helped them !! I’m sure everyone had some hints to give them!Happy Birthdays to Emu & Ray. Welcome back Ray & Pam from sunny Qld. There were 3 two game winners, on a countback!!

Our popular Thursday bowls pairs comp. We had 40 players front up to play to win. There were a few players not playing, but all came to watch and comment on those playing! Lots of players are coming back from their trips up north.

Again we had 40 Bowlers!! Playing in our Thursday pairs today! It is very popular, we had visitors from Stratford, west Sale, Maffra and as far as Essendon! Welcome to all!

Turned out to be quite a nice day for Bowls today. 18 stalwarts competed for the money & glory!

What a glorious day today for our Saturday social comp. Everybody was stripping off layers of clothing as it was so warm! 32 players came out in the sunshine to win the day! Thanks go to Wally, Neville, Bruce & Keith for doing the lines. It’s so much better when we can see them!
Thanks also to the players who help set up for the games, and also pack up. It is so much easier when everyone helps! Lucky rink winners who went home early were Lindsay, Sue & Emmy, and Doris & Shirley! A good day had by all!

Well Thursday pairs comp is very popular! We had 20 teams competing for the win! Thats 40 players coming out to play their best to take home the money!! The sun was out and quite a nice day was had by all! The Grammar school students were here as well, so all rinks were full! We had players from W/ Sale, Maffra, Stratty, & Bairnsdale visiting!

Winter has come back to bite us. Very threatening skys today, but we had 28 players come try their luck. It rained after the first game, a couple of players pulled out. We welcomed George Martin who is going to join Sale.
