Are you interested in learning more about Little Athletics?

Check out this amazing opportunity by Elevate Athletics.

🏃🏼WANT TO HELP AT YOUR LOCAL LITTLE ATHLETICS CENTRE?

I’m excited to be facilitating two FREE “Introduction to Little Athletics” workshops on behalf of Little Athletics Victoria, right here in Gippsland.

This is a practical, beginner-friendly introduction to the skills you need to confidently help children participate in athletics - no previous experience required!

Across the day, we’ll cover the basics of ALL Little Athletics events, including:
• Track (sprints, middle distance, relays, race walking & hurdles)
• Jump (long jump, high jump, triple jump)
• Throw (shot put, discus, javelin)

But it’s not just about learning how to run an event. We’ll also explore how to teach and support children in each event, with practical ideas to help create an environment that is fun, encouraging and engaging for athletes of all abilities. 💙

WHO IS THIS FOR?
• Parents
• Volunteers
• Teachers
• Anyone 16 years or older interested in learning the basics of little athletics.

And the best part… IT’S COMPLETELY FREE! 🎉

Multi-Class - Little Athletics Victoria 29/08/2026

Little Athletics is for EVERYONE!

At Sale Little Athletics Centre, we welcome ALL athletes of ALL abilities. We want every child to have the opportunity to participate, have fun, build confidence and work towards their own personal best.

Multi-Class (MC) competition provides a pathway for eligible athletes with disability who would like to compete at a higher level.

Athletes who wish to compete in Multi-Class events complete a classification process. Classification considers how an athlete's disability affects their ability to compete and places them in an appropriate sport class, helping to make competition fair.

But you do not need a classification to participate at SLAC!

Our regular SLAC program is open to everyone, and we can work with families to support individual needs and make participation enjoyable and meaningful.

Whether your child wants to have a go, make friends, build confidence, chase a personal best or explore competition, there is a place for them at SLAC.

2026/27 season starts Saturday, 3rd October
Registrations opening soon!

If you have questions about participation or Multi-Class, please get in touch.

And… we have a new equipment shed!

This upgrade is going to make accessing and storing our equipment so much easier. It will help keep everything in better condition, improve longevity, and make setup and pack‑up far more efficient for our committee, volunteers and the school groups who use the track.

The new shed replaces the old timber shed and shipping containers, giving us a much safer and more practical space for all our gear.

A huge thank you to the Wellington Shire Council for making this possible, your support continues to make a real difference to community sport in Sale.

A big thank you also to Brad Fairhall at BME Design for the design, planning and project management, and to Chris Laverty and Brad Fairhall for clearing the site to make room for the new shed.
