Sale Tennis Club hosted a Purple Night on Friday night in support of Sale Rotary Club's "Sale says NO to domestic and family violence" campaign.

Players all turned out for their regular Friday training sessions dressed in purple to show their support for the campaign against domestic and family violence.

Rotary Club of Sale President Lisa Wakeman and executive member Colin Adams along with other Rotary members were on hand to share the evening. Colin addressed the group and discussed the extent and impact of domestic violence in our community.

All proceeds from the "Feel Good Friday" Ranford's sausage sizzle and the raffle helped to raise over $300 for Rotary to support their campaign.

Starting tennis as a late beginner just a few years ago, Lawrence has shown what can happen when you combine a growth mindset with a willingness to work.

Today, he's grown into one of the top juniors in the region, member of our High Performance Squad while also contributing to our coaching team.

But what makes Lawrence stand out isn't just what he does on court. Also a member of our Junior Committee, he's always quick to put his hand up, help others and lift those around him. He's a fantastic role model for our younger players and a great example of where a positive attitude, hard work and consistency can take you.

We're incredibly proud of his growth and contribution to Sale TC.

We're looking for juniors and seniors to represent Sale TC in our annual Intra Club Challenge against Drouin TC on August 23.

A day of competitive tennis, new connections, team pride, Best & Fairest Awards, BBQ and plenty of club spirit.

In Term 3, we're launching two new Saturday morning programs at Sale Tennis Club to help junior players build confidence, improve their matchplay, and accelerate their development in a supportive environment.

Hotshots Gameplay
8:30am to 9:30am | $12 per session

Perfect for younger Hotshots players transitioning into matchplay. Led by Head Coach Jason, players receive personalised coaching through game-based activities that develop movement, court positioning, shot selection, strategy and a positive mindset.

Saturday Matchplay
9:00am to 10:30am | $10 per session

An 8-week structured competition starting this Saturday, with Grand Finals on 19 September. Players receive live coaching to improve decision-making and perform under match pressure.

Players who enrol for the full season also receive a recorded SwingVision match with Head Coach analysis, including match statistics and personalised video feedback.

The program also includes:
• Weekly prizes
• Beat the Coach one-point challenge
• Structured, tiered matchplay
• A positive environment that rewards effort, sportsmanship and improvement

These programs complement our weekday coaching by giving juniors the match experience they need to keep improving.

Saturday mornings are all about learning how to compete, playing hard, but most importantly playing fair.

A big shoutout to Hayley Jackson, Matthew Inga, Kai Sweeney and Martin Ma for showing what great sportsmanship looks like, competing hard, respecting their opponents and playing the game the right way.

Congratulations also to Coach Tim and Lawrence for making the final of our 1 Point Slam.

Every Saturday this term we'll be helping our juniors sharpen their skills, build confidence under pressure, and replace doubt with positive habits that stand up in match play. The goal isn't just better tennis.. it's more about developing resilient competitors and great people.

Our official preseason matchplay competition starts next Saturday so it's not too late to get involved!

Term 3 is off and running!

Great to see everyone back on court this week bringing the energy, effort and a positive attitude.

Big shoutout to Maya and Xavier for their early morning commitment, working hard with big smiles in the 3-degree mornings to get themselves ready for a big Junior Pennant season starting in term 4.

Thanks to Domino's Pizza Sale and E5 PlayZone, these players have been rewarded for showing great intensity, focus and a resilient attitude in week 1.
