Working with one of my clients so she can show us her strength, stability, balance and coordination. 💪
These exercises combine unilateral strength work with challenges to the posterior oblique sling — the cross-body connection between the gluteus maximus on one side and the opposite latissimus dorsi which helps to stabilise the pelvis and trunk, and transfer force through the body.
Add an offset kettlebell and there’s even more for the body — and brain — to coordinate. 😄
isn’t just about what you can lift, but how well you can control it.

These photos of my client were taken before and after the same PT session in which we spent time using the foam roller to perform myofascial release techniques and mobility exercises
By the end of the session, you can see a change in how her body naturally organises itself when standing, having a more open position through the chest and upper body, with the head and shoulders sitting differently over the trunk.
Personal training sessions don’t have to be about constantly overloading your body. They should also be about looking at how your body is functioning and addressing areas of restriction, muscular imbalance or altered movement patterns.
At HEAT Pilates & Training, I assess how your body is moving before adding load or intensity, rather than simply reinforcing poor movement patterns for the sake of a harder workout.
Sometimes, your body needs to make the right movements, not the most strenuous ones, so as to feel better after a PT session than it did before.

Fun Friday!
Pilates is built on principles like concentration, control and flow… but it doesn’t mean we have to take ourselves too seriously. 😄
Every now and then it’s good to pause the concentration for a laugh.
Don’t worry, we did do the proper version of the standing double leg stretch after we recovered 😆
You know you’ve found your people when someone is on exactly the same wavelength and commits to the joke too! 🤣

Calf raises… with a little extra awareness. 👣
As many of us tend to roll outwards when performing calf rises, using a tennis ball gives feedback, especially for:
• foot position
• inner leg connection (which helps with pelvic stability)
• ankle control
• balance and alignment
Small props create big awareness.
There’s one Pilates cue I don’t use:
“Push your spine into the mat.”
For March MATness, I’m revisiting some classical mat exercises and sharing how I approach teaching them - informed by my own experience in managing spinal issues.
When people hear push, it often leads to gripping through the back or forcing the lumbar spine flat instead of creating control from the centre.
In the pelvic curl, I prefer to think about the pelvis initiating the movement, allowing the spine to follow and articulate gradually.
Living with hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos and degenerative spine changes has made me very aware of the difference between tension and true support. I’m even more mindful of moving with control rather than forcing range.
For me, Pilates is about the intention behind the movement — creating precision and support rather than forcing range.

✨ Reformer Pilates for Pairs ✨
These two lovely ladies have been training with me for a couple of years now — and their consistency is exactly why they keep getting stronger.
In a pairs session, you’re seen, corrected and guided the entire time — you are not just following along to sometimes get lost along the way.
It is personalised coaching that gives you a little extra motivation to be consistent.
It’s the perfect middle ground between private training and large group classes —
more personal, more focused, and a smarter shared investment.
Train with a friend.
Stay consistent.
Feel stronger.

🌏 HEAT PT officially landed in
CAMBODIA 🇰🇭
From Switzerland
To Dubai
And now Southeast Asia
Who knew my balls could clock up more air miles than most of us? 😏
I love that our community takes their movement tools with them.
No excuses. No skipped recovery. Just consistency wherever you are.
Trigger point release doesn't need a studio.
Just a wall. A floor. And maybe a sunset view. ☀️

Elbow pain isn’t always an “elbow problem.”
Repetitive arm use, whether through work (as is the case for this client) or play, can build tension through the shoulder, chest and upper back — even when there’s no injury and you’ve already been cleared by a physiotherapist.
Sessions like this focus on:
• unloading the elbow
• easing tension through the shoulder and upper back
• gentle release and supported mobility that respects irritated nerves
Less pushing.
More restoring.
And remember, smart movement support works best alongside good clinical care with your allied health professional.

MobiFlex® with HEAT Pilates & Training
This session shows part of how training is approached at HEAT PT.
You’ll see:
• targeted TFL release
• controlled hip rotation in the 90/90 position
• hip flexor mobility and strength
• single-leg hamstring curls on a foam roller
Most people carry some level of muscle imbalance due to daily habits, sport, previous injury or prolonged sitting. If this isn’t addressed, strength work can reinforce poor movement control.
By reducing excess tension, restoring joint control, and then layering strength through range, the body is better supported to move and manage load — both in training and everyday life.
