Ryde Masters Swimming Club - RAMS

At the end of July, five Ryde Masters Swimming members headed to the Central Coast to test their endurance (and counting skills!) at the 2026 Masters Swimming NSW Long Distance (Short Course) Championships. And what a day it was!

Highlights include:
🏅 ALL members coming home with not just one, but two medals (the maximum for individuals at the meet).
🥇 ALL members coming home with at least one GOLD medal!
⭐ Personal best times smashed across distances as long as 1,500m (yes, over short course meters, that is 60 laps to count!)
🏆 The team coming home with yet another Average Points Score championship for 2026!

What fantastic results from our small contingent! Go Ryde! 🩷💙

We may be biased, but we think this is a meet not to be missed! With plenty of races in the program, there is something for everyone to get involved - plus a sneaky snag at the end of the day! 🌭

Please note that swimmers are limited to four (4) individual swims plus one relay, and the meet will be run under manual timing.

There are plenty of long distance events on offer - from 400m up to 1500m! Please note that swimmers are limited to two (2) swims across the day, and only one swim at the 800m or 1500m distance.

Our second short course meet in June - the Warringah Masters Swimming Club IPS meet - was another great outing for the club, with nine members competing to finish in 6th place overall! 🏊

Well done to Warringah on another great meet, with the Medley Shootout still a highlight of the year!

We now look towards the upcoming Masters Swimming NSW State Meets in July and August - the short course Long Distance Championships on the Central Coast, and the Relay Meet at SOPAC!

June was a great month for short course swim meets!

Well done to our team that competed at the Seaside Pirates Masters Swimming Club IPS meet on Sunday 14 June at Knox Grammar Aquatic Centre. We had some fantastic individual and relay results across the afternoon, with the team of eight swimmers finishing in 11th place overall 🎉

It's the start of a new month, so you know what that means... birthday cake after training! 🎉

Last night we celebrated our July birthday members, with some wonderful slice and red velvet cake prepared by Amanda. Safe to say it went down really well after an intense long-distance carnival preparation set - not a single crumb was left behind! 🎂
