The Afghan boys saved one of their most complete performances for the biggest stage, proving far too strong for the Bay City Maulers in Sunday's Grand Final.

Batting first, the Warriors posted 165, led by an absolutely brutal cameo from Jawid Ahmed. 💥

Jawid clearly decided singles were overrated… 😂

Even after the onslaught, the Maulers would've walked off believing 165 was chaseable and they had a genuine chance of pulling off the upset.

Then the Afghan Warriors picked up the ball…

Their relentless bowling attack simply never allowed the Maulers into the contest. Wickets kept falling, the pressure kept building, and eventually the Bay City Maulers were blown away for just 80 runs.

The Bay City Maulers were threatening to pull off an upset against the Ducksake boys, but Fridge was standing in their way.

His retirement gave the Maulers a sniff and completely changed the momentum of the game.

The much-fancied Afghan Warriors walked to the crease full of confidence, but Hamish had other plans. Producing a Shane Warne-esque spell of leg spin, he had the batters guessing, missing and heading back to the pavilion one after another.

It was a performance that ripped the heart out of one of the competition's strongest batting line-ups and left everyone wondering...

Cricket can be a cruel game.

Sometimes you play one of the innings of the season... and still end up on the losing side.

That's exactly what happened to Eddy Hasimi on Sunday.

With wickets falling around him, Eddy produced a captain's knock, smashing 71 from just 35 balls. It was a fearless display of clean hitting, timing and pure power, launching 7 sixes and keeping the Afghan Warriors in the contest almost single-handedly.

Unfortunately for the Warriors, For Ducks Sake chased down the target in style, reaching 159/2 to claim a six-wicket victory despite Eddy's heroics.

Some innings deserve more than just runs on a scorecard...

Luke was at his destructive best, earning a well-deserved Player of the Match performance, while Ethan was the perfect partner in crime, making sure the pressure never let up.

By the end of the innings, Bay City Maulers had posted 6/126, and despite a determined chase, Caught Behind the Sheds couldn't quite reel them in.
