Welcome to Rowville Knights! A proud junior community football club serving our local families. Join us and be a part of our Knights family!

We host teams from Auskick to U17s, fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and fun for all kids. The Rowville Knights were born out of a group of parents meeting in November 1993 to discuss forming a new junior football club to as an alternative to the local offerings available at the time. At this point in time the club was born and adopted the name
St Simon’s Community Football Club (SSCFC). The cl

ub was accepted into the Knox Junior Football Association (KJFA) on the 14th December 1993 at the league AGM to compete in the 1994 season. In it’s inaugural season the club fielded two sides in the KJFA, U10’s and U12’s, with fifty players. There were no facilities at the ground, so the Rowville Community Centre Tennis Pavilion was used for club rooms and Rowville Primary School for toilets, which was about 200m away. In 1996, an application was approved by Council to build a pavilion at Stud Park Ground, which was completed in 1997 for the commencement of the season. Training lights were subsequently installed courtesy of the Start Program. In Season 1999, there was the merging of KJFA and Eastern Districts Football League (EDFL) into Eastern Football League (EFL). St Simons remained a standalone junior football club and our second ground was secured at Lysterfield. Due to the league merger, in the year 2000 the club was required to alter the playing jumper. We then set out trying to come up with a new jumper that met the requirements of the league, did not clash with other clubs, and most importantly kept as much of what was St Simons Community Football Clubs original colours. This was the time that the "Knights" were born and the words in the song were changed from "Saints" to "Knights". During season 2001, our Club searched for a new ground. This was during the time where the club had solid growth and additional facilities were required. SSCFC was awarded the Gordon Parker Best Conducted Junior Club award for the year also. This is a very prestigious award and is presented to the club that had conducted itself the best both on and off the field for the season. With a club of our size at the time it was a credit to all members to have received this award. In Season 2002, the largest number of teams within the SSCFC were recorded with the EFL, with 16 teams. With an average of around 20 players per team we had approximately 320 registered players. This made SSCFC the largest junior club in the EFL. In 2003, the Liberty Reserve Pavilion was opened and became the main oval for the club. In 2016, a vote was held to officially change the club name to Rowville Knights Community Football Club Inc. 2016 was also the year that The Rowville Knights entered our first all girls team into the competition. The number of girls teams has grown to three, with the intent to enter four girls teams in 2022. Our girls team wear a slightly altered jumper, with a dash of hot pink added in.

2021 will see the grand opening of our brand new girls change room facilities, and the Knights are extremely proud of their contribution to female participation in the sport.

Presentation Day is all about celebrating what makes our club so special. The canteen will be open, the coffee on and a big obstacle course race will be waiting for the kids!

Our U12 Girls have made history, reaching their first-ever Grand Final! What an incredible achievement for this group of young Knights. 💪
