Australian Title Recap 🦘

Friday night saw us put together some strong results in our heat races, showing promising pace early in the event.

Unfortunately, our night came to an end on lap two of the feature. While attempting a pass on a fellow competitor, Riley made contact with the wall, resulting in a rollover.

This brought an early end to our night. The team assessed the damage with the intention of repairing the car for night two; however after a thorough inspection, Riley made the difficult decision to withdraw from the title due to the extent of damage to the chassis.

As a result, this also marks an early end to our season.

Riley would to firstly thank the fellow competitors who generously offered the use of their spare cars, and secondly everyone who helped. We also extend our apologies to Newmarch Racing

The Burson Auto Parts Australian Wingless Sprint Championship has officially started last night with practice, feeling comfy in the car, happy to be 13th quickest in practice but we will see how we go once race day comes around, once again thank you to everyone that backs us wouldn’t be able to do it without them 🏁

Densley Fastest in Official Practice

Victorian Blaine Densley has made his first laps at the Perth Motorplex count, going fastest in official practice tonight ahead of this weekend’s Burson Auto Parts Australian Wingless Sprint Title.

For a long time it looked to be local driver Daran Humfrey who would finish on top of the tree, recording a 17.187 second lap in the seventeenth session, but in session thirty-six Densely recorded a blistering 17.161 second lap to go fastest.

Defending National Champion Tyson Martin would be third fastest with a 17.249 second lap in session twelve followed by Luke Weel (17.274 in session fifteen) and Chris Temby (17.349 in session thirty-four).

In all, forty-nine of the seventy-four drivers for the weekend would hit the track in practice, with forty-one sessions conducted, with no cars appearing to suffer any major issues.

The Calcutta will be held tomorrow night, while racing gets underway on Friday and Saturday nights.
