Rockhampton Road Runners

on Huish Drive opposite the playground/amenities block. This is a 5km bridges loop of town, making it a scenic run of the town. There are shortcuts along the way for those looking for less distance. Water bubblers are on course. The Rookies course is always the same, which allows for runners to gauge their progression of fitness. Tuesday Track:

These are held at the CQU oval (near the Uni Gym). This is a grass track, and track sessions run year round with lighting. Juniors at 5:30pm - 2 age groups are available. Under 10yrs for fun 'play based' running. Over 10yrs for 'interval training' designed for those kids competing at School level Cross Country and Athletics. Both sessions are lead by run leaders. Adults at 6pm - Track sessions are 45min - 1 hour and are self-directed and self-paced. There are many people attending of all different fitness levels so you do not have be a "fast runner" to attend, just someone who is looking to improve. These sessions are great for building speed. Thursday Club Run:

Thursday afternoon with a 5:40pm start. The distances range from 5km to 6.5km, and the course changes on a weekly basis. These runs are the same style as the Monday run, with the changes to the course/distance only. Saturday Long Run:

This run meets for a prompt 5:00am start in the hotter months, and a 5:30am start in the cooler months (please keep an eye on FB posts/contact us to confirm start time). Meeting point is Degani Cafe, Farm Street, Glenmore Shopping Village. This is a slow paced run - your 'slow' pace. Distance is self-selected, the the group run anywhere from 5km to 30km+. Maximum run time is about 3hrs. This run is suitable to all runners that are looking to improve their distance running. Sunday Afternoon Temp Run:
This run meets at 4:45pm for a 5:00pm start at the Queens Park Car Park, beside the train bridge on the Northside. These runs are 1 hour in duration. The pace is usually about 4:30 - 5min/km but can vary depending on how everyone is feeling!
