Sharing Mitchell's Journey of Positive Thinking & Resilience in his battle with Childhood Cancer & providing support through RFDS to rural families like Mitchell's in their time of need. Since his diagnosis with cancer in 2017 at the young age of 12, Mitchell Richards has taken his battle on with positive thinking & resilience. In July 2021, Mitchell published his first book My Journey to share th
e story of his journey with others, the highs & lows, the resilience of his family, support of his friends & dedicated health care professionals. Mitchell’s mindset is truly inspiring & through his book he aims to help others going through similar challenges. Although there is no cure for Mitchell’s cancer he continues to think of others and leave his fingerprint. Now he wants to give back by raising funds for his chosen charity The Royal Flying Doctors (QLD Section). Why The Royal Flying Doctors (QLD Section)? Mitchell & his family know all to well the importance of having a vital service like The Royal Flying Doctors available to local communities across rural Queensland. On four occasions Mitchell & his younger brother Jack have been transported by the Royal Flying Doctors for emergency health care & life saving treatment. It is comforting to know that when there is an emergency & time is of the essence Royal Flying Doctors services are there for you & able to assist in giving people the best possible outcomes. This is Mitchell’s & his family’s way of saying Thankyou to the Royal Flying Doctors for their continued support over the years. Inspired by his story Emma Jury (JMZ Constructions) & Leesa Hearn (Buddy’s Fire) on behalf of Mitchell will run 100km in the month of August to help raise money for the Royal Flying Doctors & to promote Mitchell’s story. Following this, on the 28th of August an Auction & Raffle will also be held in conjunction with the 100K for Mitchell challenge. All proceeds from the event will be donated to The Royal Flying Doctors (QLD Section) as they aim to raise $40,000. We truly hope that through this challenge we can share what an amazing, inspiring & selfless person Mitchell Richards is and kindly support him on his journey by donating to the Royal Flying Doctors (QLD Section).
