Neck pain isn’t always just about your neck.

Sometimes the neck is where you feel the pain, but the underlying contributors can involve your upper back, shoulders, posture, movement patterns or even how you use your body day to day.

At Realign, we look beyond the symptoms to understand what may be contributing to your pain — so treatment can be tailored to you.

If neck pain is getting in the way of your everyday life, it may be time to have it assessed.

Have you ever seen those stainless steel tools used during a massage and wondered what they’re for? 🤔

Known as muscle scraping (or Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilisation - IASTM), this technique is more than just a social media trend. Research suggests it may help reduce pain, improve mobility, ease muscle tightness, and support recovery when used as part of the right treatment plan.

At Realign Physio & Co, our massage therapist incorporates muscle scraping into sports massage when clinically appropriate, and it can also be included in remedial massage upon request.

But does it really “break up scar tissue” or “release toxins”? The science says... not exactly.

We’ve unpacked what muscle scraping actually does, the benefits supported by research, and who it may be suitable for in our latest blog.

🔗 Head to the link in our bio to read the full article and find out if muscle scraping could help you move and feel better.

4 hip flexors stretches for you!
Tight hip flexors can limit hip extension, making your lower back work harder during everyday movements.
If you spend hours sitting, your hip flexors stay in a shortened position. Regular stretching can reduce stiffness, improve hip mobility, and make standing and walking feel more comfortable.

Have you checked out our June blog post yet? 🏂
Winter is here, and for many people that means heading to the snow! While skiing and snowboarding are great fun, they can also put a lot of stress on your body. Skiers often experience knee injuries, while snowboarders are more prone to wrist and shoulder injuries from falls.
The good news? Preparation can help reduce your risk. Strength training, balance exercises, mobility work, and a proper warm-up can all help you stay safer and perform better on the slopes.
Planning a snow trip this season? Now is the perfect time to get your body slope-ready!
Read our June blog post for practical tips on injury prevention, recovery, and preparing for the snow. Find the link in our bio! ❄️
