One of the biggest misconceptions about healthy habits is that they take freedom away.
In reality, the opposite is often true.
Think about brushing your teeth.
You probably don’t wake up each morning and debate whether you’ll do it.
It’s part of your routine.
Exercise, meal planning, drinking water and going for a walk can become the same.
Not because you’re disciplined every day.
But because you’ve removed the need to constantly negotiate with yourself.
The women who stay consistent long-term aren’t usually relying on motivation.
They’ve simply created routines that fit their lives.
Not perfect routines.
Realistic ones.
The kind that still work when life gets busy.
Because consistency becomes much easier when every healthy choice doesn’t require a conversation in your head first.

Let’s talk pelvic floor health.
It’s something many women are told is important, but not always taught properly.
Next Wednesday evening, we’re lucky to have physiotherapist Liz Murphy joining us on Zoom for a 30-minute education talk about pelvic floor health, how to activate your pelvic floor, and how this connects with movement, strength and confidence.
Liz has over 25 years of experience as a physiotherapist and a special interest in women’s health, supporting women through all stages of life with pelvic floor dysfunction, prolapse, bladder and bowel concerns, pelvic pain, pregnancy, postnatal recovery and more.
Wednesday 15 July
7.00pm AEST via Zoom
Open to everyone
Please DM us for the Zoom details.
This will be a really valuable session, and we’re grateful to Liz for sharing her time and knowledge with our community.

Protein, vegetables and a little preparation.
This breakfast frittata contains approximately 18–20g of protein per serve and around 750–920kJ, helping to keep you fuller for longer and making busy mornings a whole lot easier.
One tray. Five breakfasts.
Sometimes the healthiest meals aren’t the fancy ones.
They’re the ones waiting in the fridge when life gets busy.

People often ask what makes Halligan’s Fitness different.
It’s not the equipment.
It’s not the workouts.
It’s not having the latest fitness trend.
It’s knowing that every woman starts from a different place.
Some of our members are returning to exercise after years away.
Some are managing injuries, arthritis or health conditions.
Some are navigating menopause and simply want to feel stronger and more energised.
That’s why every session includes options, modifications and encouragement so you can work at a level that feels right for you.
No pressure to keep up.
No feeling left behind.
Just support, guidance and a community that wants you to succeed.
Because confidence doesn’t come from being the fittest person in the room.
It comes from showing up, doing what you can and getting a little stronger each day.

💙 What a wonderful couple of weeks it's been at Halligan's Fitness! 💙
Looking back through these photos, we're reminded just how special this community is.
We've celebrated some very special birthdays, including Chrisanya from Corryong, Danielle from Melbourne, and Carolyn from Collinsville, who celebrated a milestone birthday and turned 60! 🎉🎂
We've also loved welcoming Helen from Creswick, who recently visited us in person. It's always fantastic when our online community members get the chance to connect face-to-face.
A special mention as well to Carmen, who travelled down from Brisbane to join us for one of our Saturday morning park sessions. We love seeing our members make the most of opportunities to train together in person. ☀️💪
Over the past few weeks we've also celebrated some incredible member milestones, with so many people reaching new session goals through their consistency, commitment and hard work. 👏
To top it all off, we've enjoyed some fantastic Saturday morning sessions in the park, bringing together members both in person and online. There's something pretty special about training together, sharing a few laughs, and then catching up afterwards as well.
Whether you're joining us from the Gold Coast, regional Australia, overseas, or somewhere in between, thank you for making Halligan's Fitness such a supportive, encouraging and fun community to be part of. ❤️

What a fantastic Saturday morning! 🌞💪
We brought together the best of both worlds with people training with us live in the park and others joining online from home. No matter where you were, the energy, support, and smiles were incredible.
A big thank you to everyone who showed up, moved their body, and started the weekend strong. ❤️
A few of us even headed out for brunch afterwards, which was the perfect way to finish a great morning of movement, laughter, and connection.

A bit of exciting news to share…
Halligan’s Fitness and Steven have been named finalists in 7 categories at the 2026 AUSactive National Awards.
We’re genuinely honoured.
Running a small business isn’t always easy, but being able to do something we love, alongside a community of people who show up, support each other and trust us to be part of their journey is something we’ll never take for granted.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of Halligan’s Fitness over the years. Whether you’ve been with us for 15+ years or 15 days, you’ve helped shape this community.
We’re incredibly grateful. Thank you. ❤️

For years, many women were taught that eating less was the answer.
Less food.
Less fat.
Less kilojoules.
So they learned to be “good.”
A coffee for breakfast.
A light lunch.
Trying to ignore hunger.
Then by mid-afternoon they’re exhausted, rummaging through the pantry and wondering why their willpower disappeared.
Here’s the thing.
Hunger isn’t a character flaw.
It’s not your body trying to sabotage your weight loss efforts.
It’s your body doing exactly what it’s designed to do.
When we consistently under-fuel ourselves, especially earlier in the day, our bodies have a way of demanding that energy back.
Maybe the problem isn’t that you’re eating too much later.
Maybe you’re not eating enough earlier.
Food for thought.

When people hear that we run more than 70 live sessions each week, it’s hard to picture what that actually means.
The reality?
Choice.
Some people love weights.
Others prefer Pilates.
Some enjoy walking, stretching or Chair Fitness.
The goal isn’t to do everything.
It’s to find the sessions you enjoy and build a routine that works for you.
Because fitness looks different for everybody.
And that’s exactly how it should be.
