JUNIOR COMMUNITY SPIRIT AWARD 💜💛

Congratulations to Billie, Stevie, Mila and Gaby, the inaugural recipients of the Norwood Junior Football Club Junior Community Spirit Award.

These four girls have shown that being part of Norwood is about so much more than what happens on the field.

Throughout the year, they have willingly given their time to support our club, selling raffle tickets at events, cleaning the clubrooms, serving meals, helping in the canteen across junior and senior game days, and even running water for our Senior Women’s team.

They don’t help because they have to; they put their hands up because they genuinely want to contribute and be part of making our club better.

Leaders on and off the field, Billie, Stevie, Mila and Gaby perfectly represent the community spirit we want to foster in the next generation of Norwood players.

A very deserving first group of recipients and a wonderful example to our younger players. Congratulations girls! 💜💛

SENIOR ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD – RUBY

Congratulations to Ruby, our 2026 Senior Encouragement Award recipient! 💜💛

A Norwood player since U10s in 2019, Ruby has now played more than 100 games and continues to be an incredible role model for our younger players.

This season, Ruby has shown an outstanding commitment to our U12 Girls program, regularly attending training, assisting our coaches and supporting the girls on game day. She has generously given her own time to encourage, mentor and build the confidence of our young female footballers.

Whether supporting the U12 girls, helping in the canteen or contributing at club events, Ruby is always willing to give back.

Her leadership, commitment and genuine care for our younger players embody the spirit of Norwood and make her a very deserving recipient of this award.

Congratulations, Ruby! 💜💛

CLUB PERSON OF THE YEAR | BROOKE CLARKE

A huge congratulations to Brooke Clarke, our 2026 Club Person of the Year.

This award recognises the individual who has made an outstanding contribution to the enrichment of Norwood Junior Football Club throughout the year.

Brooke has been an integral part of Norwood for more than a decade, beginning as an Auskick volunteer and continuing to contribute across numerous roles within our Junior Club.

As our Team Manager Coordinator, Brooke provides invaluable year-round support and guidance to our Team Managers, but her contribution goes well beyond her role. This season, she was instrumental in coordinating the introduction of our new reversible playing jumpers across the club, a significant project involving hundreds of players and families.

Brooke has also worked closely with our March Manager to improve our merchandise operations, introducing new products, strengthening the Norwood brand and helping generate additional income for the club.

Her dedication, reliability and willingness to continually go above and beyond make Brooke an incredibly deserving 2026 Club Person of the Year. Congratulations, Brooke! 💜💛

DALE MAY MEMORIAL TROPHY | ARCHIE

Congratulations to Archie, our 2026 recipient of the Dale May Memorial Trophy.

This special award honours former Norwood player Dale May, a 100-game and premiership player who went on to represent the Senior Club. It recognises an upper-age junior player for their contribution to Norwood and/or the wider community.

With more than 130 games for Norwood, Archie’s contribution extends well beyond the field. His loyalty to the club was particularly evident in 2025 when Norwood was unable to field an U17.5 team. Rather than play elsewhere, Archie chose to umpire for the season while remaining connected to the club he calls home.

In 2026, Archie played an important role in getting our U17.5 team back on the field, actively encouraging players to join and helping build the momentum needed to re-establish the team.

Archie’s loyalty, initiative and genuine commitment to Norwood make him a very deserving recipient of the Dale May Memorial Trophy. Congratulations, Archie! 💜💛

GEORGE WINTLE PERPETUAL TROPHY | MICK CATON

A huge congratulations to Mick Caton, our 2026 recipient of the George Wintle Perpetual Trophy.

This special award honours the memory of George Wintle and recognises an individual who, through many years of involvement, has made an outstanding contribution to the prosperity and success of the Norwood Junior Football Club.

Over many years, Mick has given enormously to Norwood, both on and off the field. From serving on the committee and taking on the role of Equipment Manager, to coaching several junior teams and giving countless hours supporting our players, families, coaches and volunteers, Mick has always been willing to step in wherever he is needed.

His commitment has also played an important role in strengthening the connection between our Junior and Senior Clubs and contributing to the culture and community we are so proud of at Norwood.

Thank you, Mick, for your years of service, commitment and contribution to our club. A very deserving recipient of the George Wintle Perpetual Trophy. 💜💛
