The Modbury Tennis Club is one of the largest tennis clubs in the North East suburbs. It is situated on Ashley Avenue, Ridgehaven, as a part of the Modbury Sporting Complex. It has 8 well kept courts and utilises an excellent licensed club room, with canteen, bar and ample area for entertaining and relaxing when you're taking a break from the court. Playing options at Modbury vary from options for the true beginners right up to the most competitive players. For our beginners, club coaches Gavin Pfitzner & Tim Sandwell are the ones to see. Both offer group and private lessons at the club from Monday to Friday. For those wanting to have the occasional hit, we have you covered. Our social membership option gives you access to the courts for one year, at the low price of $120. This allows you to enjoy tennis without being a competitive member of the club. For those looking for structured matches in a relaxed environment, the Tuesday night mixed doubles or Wednesday morning Ladies doubles competition may be for you. The Tuesday night comp is a great way to start out for adults looking to play and is also a great way to meet new people! Juniors are covered as well at Modbury! Catering for all children from beginners to pennant level, the junior competition is a great way for kids to be involved with tennis, in a nurturing, structured environment. Matches are held on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. The senior teams at Modbury are something we pride ourselves on! With teams covering the full range of abilities, there is sure to be a team for you. Ladies and men's teams play on Saturday afternoons and can often be found after matches relaxing at the club rooms enjoying the great hospitality. To all our tennis club players and members. At the AGM 2 weeks ago I stepped down from the presidency and all committee duties after 21 continuous years on the committee. Spanning from general committee member in 2005, Junior Coordinator, Secretary and the last 9 years as your President.

Over these years I have made many friendships that are and will continue to be long lasting into the future.
I have been involved in some significant changes to this club and am proud of what we have achieved whilst I have been at the helm.
Particulary the most recent $1 million dollar reconstruction of all 8 courts.

It’s time for me to take a break and make way for some fresh faces to continue the momentum of our great club. I have full confidence in the new committe that has formed. I’ll still be around though, playing Saturday competition.

Thanks again to everyone that is part of our amazing club, see you on the courts and a drink and chat after the game.

Hi all, the council will be holding an official opening / ribbon cutting for the 4 new courts this Wednesday may 13th from 5.30pm.
We will be putting on a sausage sizzle and the bar will be open.
All members, feel free to come along and bring your racquet to have a hit

Our new lower level courts are complete. From today we can commence practice and matches. The new surface looks amazing....

Court Reconstruction Update.
Despite some delays with handover of the courts due to weather, this Wednesday 6th of May, our committee will be having a walk through from the council project team. They are looking fantastic with club members able to use them from Thursday 7 May onwards.
