Just started learning? Been dancing for years? Or somewhere in between?
There’s a class for everyone.
Not sure which one’s for you? Jump into my DM’s and I’ll point you in the right direction.
Watch what happens when we switch sides in this technique combo. Same steps, same counts. Suddenly it’s harder.
Does anyone else relate?

Progress in tap dance isn’t about talent. It’s about showing up, week after week, and letting the steps build on each other.
There’s no shortcut. It just takes consistency.
What keeps you consistent?
Learning something for the first time, no one nails it to start with.
You break it down, repeat it, repeat it again, and again, and it starts to land.
This is the part people don’t usually see, the actual learning, not the finished sequence.

Every reason on your list for not returning to dance is one I’ve heard before. And none of them hold up once you’re back in the studio.
Save this for the moment you need it. Or share with someone who’s been talking about coming back.
This is what progress looks like. A year of turning up. Week after week. Class after class.

Someone asked me that on Thursday night, as class finished.
For a full hour they hadn’t thought about work, their to-do list, or anything else going on in their life. Just the steps, the rhythm, the movement.
That’s not a coincidence.
Tap dance for adults takes so much concentration that there isn’t room left over for anything else.
For a whole hour, your brain gets a genuine break, not from doing nothing but from doing one thing completely.

Bill ‘Bojangles’ Robinson led many of his steps starting on the left. Most tap dancers start on the right. In a tradition mostly built around right-footers, that made him unusual, and it’s part of what gave him his distinctive edge.
It’s International Left Handers Day, and yes, those are my feet.
Any other ‘lefties’ in the room?
