Some reviews say more about a business than any ad ever could. π
Amy's review sums up exactly what Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre has always been about: teaching children and adults to swim. Pay per lesson, no lock in contracts, and instructors who take the time to genuinely connect with babies and parents, not just run through a routine.
That's the philosophy behind everything we do here in Reynella. It's exactly why families across Adelaide's southern suburbs keep choosing Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre year after year. π

Here's a water safety tip that takes ten seconds to check, but could matter in an emergency: what colour is your child's swimsuit? π
Bright, contrasting colours like neon orange, yellow, green and pink are far easier to spot in water than navy, black, white or pale blue, which tend to blend into the water, shadows or glare. It's a small detail, but for parents and lifeguards, being able to spot a child quickly can buy precious extra seconds if something goes wrong.
At Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre in Reynella, water safety isn't something we only think about during lessons, it's part of every conversation we have with families. A high visibility swimsuit won't replace active supervision or swimming skills, but it's a simple, low-cost upgrade that adds one more layer of safety to your next pool day. π¦

This week's Meet the Instructor spotlight is on Abbie, one of the friendly faces teaching lessons at Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre in Reynella for the past 3 years. π
Abbie's love of the water goes back a long way. Swimming and competing have been part of her life for as long as she can remember, so becoming an instructor was a natural fit. She gets to turn a lifelong passion into a career, and it shows in every lesson she teaches. π
Ask Abbie what she loves most about working at SRSC and she'll tell you straight away: it's the kids. Their smiles and their progress make every day worth it, and that genuine enjoyment is something families notice the moment they meet her.
Her favourite skill to teach is dives, there's nothing quite like watching a nervous first attempt turn into a confident leap, and Abbie's right there cheering every step of the way. π
It's instructors like Abbie who make Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre feel like more than just a swim school, a place where families in Adelaide's southern suburbs know their kids are genuinely cared for.
We'd love to hear from you: have your kids had a lesson with Abbie? Tell us your favourite thing about her in the comments π

"I don't want to go to swimming today." If you've heard this from your child, you're far from alone. Resistance is one of the most common, and most normal, parts of learning to swim. π
It's new, it takes effort, and for a lot of kids, pushing back is simply part of adjusting to something unfamiliar. It doesn't mean your child isn't ready, and it's rarely a sign to stop. Consistency through the hard patch is usually what makes the biggest difference.
Swipe through the carousel for why kids resist, what can genuinely help, and a practical option worth knowing about if resistance isn't easing on its own. π
Save this post for the next tricky swimming lesson carpark debate, or share it with another parent who might be going through the same thing.
Struggling to settle your swimmer into lessons? Comment SWIM and our team can talk you through your options. There is always an option to support your child learning life saving skills. πββοΈ

This week's Meet the Instructor spotlight is on Helen. A familiar face at Sherriffs Road Swimming Centre, teaching with us since 2022. π
Swimming has always been woven through Helen's life, from her own childhood right through to teaching her own kids to swim. For her, it's never been just a fun activity - it's a genuine life skill, and that belief shows in the way she teaches every class. π
One of the things Helen loves most about working here is her team. Being surrounded by instructors who share ideas and support each other's teaching is something she doesn't take for granted, and it's part of what makes our small, family-run pool feel different to families walking through the door.
Ask her students what she loves teaching most and star floats and torpedoes come up every time. It's more than a fun skill for Helen, she's passionate about the star float specifically because it's such an important water safety fundamental for kids and adults alike.
We'd love to hear from you: have your kids had a lesson with Helen? Tell us your favourite thing about her in the comments π
